All good, it doesn't sound like a hit so it achieving these numbers is a reflection of the hype from the video. They need to support the hype which is centered around Normani's talent as a dancer/performer/star quality, versus this song in particular. Get one or 2 promo slots but follow up with a stronger single in 8 weeks.

The biggest problems with these artists is their labels preventing them from building a decent audience. The labels are desparate for a smash, make them change musical directions multiple times and force them to hold back on releasing an album for years whilst they try and cook up a hit. It rarely ever works, best to just release a steady stream of good music and build an audience from the strongest performing songs.

The problem is people like to watch Normani, but the music is not clicking.

Normani is a great entertainer, but musically what does she bring to the table. Her brand is hyped up by music videos and performances.

Okay the #72 debut in the global chart is pretty bad :rip:

Her label is literally the worst:rip:

You got Cardi B on a track but you are not fully pushing it????:rip:What is this clownery:rip:

really bad numbers

#72 WW :rip:

Oh wow! The Normansters were saying this would be a top 10 and that it was song of the year yesterday.

This is about on par for Normani I guess, she’s more or less on Saweetie’s level of fame.

Saweetie has bigger hits than Normani under her belt, especially recently.

Told y’all the song was gonna flop, Cardi better stop mentioning this **** now. I need her to focus on the 6th #1

Did I expect better? Yes!

Do I think the Us Numbers are really that bad? nope!

It’s not that I expected it to smash at #1 with record Numbers! I can only hope it grows in the next days..otherwise I will still have the replay button on my library

I was just about to say this. I find myself being more drawn to her performances and her music videos (particularly the choreography) than her actual songs. If you're gonna be a successful musician, visuals matter, yes but the quality of your SONGS matter most because that's what people will go back to the most. That's what people will play at parties, clubs and on the radio. People don't watch music videos nearly as much as they did 5/10 years ago, especially in the US. If people can't be captivated by listening to just your songs, it'll never happen for you.

Without any major playlisting, her label really is the worst :toofunny3:

Well it’s better to debut low then rise than debut high then go -80 next week.

tiktok is its only hope

It's time for Brandon her manager to go.

There are artists signed to RCA who have seen/are seeing substantial success. You can't just keep blaming the label everytime Normani fails to perform up to expectations commercially. Even with a massive push, I don't see this song become a huge hit.

I feel like Normani has a fanbase from her Fifth Harmony days but she's yet to build a solid identity outside of that. That's only done through releasing music. She should have released some side projects/done a ton of collabs from the time Fifth Harmony disbanded to establish her sound/style and THEN focus on releasing her debut solo album. She has so much pressure on her regarding her debut album and I get the sense that she still hasn't figured out who she wants to be as an artist yet so her label will keep churning out these one-off singles hoping something sticks but so far...

Part of why the music isn't sticking is because there's no identity behind it. No one knows who Normani is as an artist or what her sound/style is supposed to be.

not surprised.

The song received minimal playlisting and isn't even on TTH. I wish it had better numbers, but it's not bad at all considering everything.

Hopefully it'll rise now.
