I'M LIKE A BIRD - Always thought this was corny and boring. JAGUAR - Boring. WOLF - Very nice. MANEATER - One of the best pop songs of the '00s. MOTH TO THE FLAME - Their music just wasn't good imo. This is giving me H&M soundtrack. BIRD - I fell asleep no shade. ELEPHANT - Boring. YEAR OF THE TIGER - CLASSIC. The production is top notch. MOOO! - So tired of this song no shade. Victoria Monet - Jaguar I like this, but my mind kind of wondered off listening to it. Don't really remember how it goes, but it's cute! Miguel - Wolf This is MALE excellence, maybe the patriarchy was a good choice after all. Nelly Furtado - Maneater Meh, I like ILAB more. But it's still good! Chairlift - Moth to the Flame I honestly thought I would be bopping to this, but for some reason this just hasn't aged well at ALL. Still like this a lot more than the other entries though. Billie Marten - Bird I'm sorry but I didn't like this! Freya Ridings - Elephant I'm sorry but I didn't like this![2] St. Vincent - Year Of The Tiger Strange Mercy is honestly one of my least fave albums of Annie's, s/t>>>>> and this is one of my least fave sings from the album, but I still love it! Still a really strong entry imo, will probably rank in the top half for me. Soccer Mommy - Your Dog Very cute song. Not much more to say. (G)I-DLE - LION LOVE the production on this, huge bop. Nelly Furtado - I'm Like A Bird Oh no honey, this is AWFUL. Literally hits 0 marks for me. Bad vocals, cheesy lyrics, dated production. Huge no for me. Victoria Monet - Jaguar Tad boring tbh. Victoria has much better. Miguel - Wolf YUP. Yes Miguel, yes talent, yes vocals, yes sexy, yes amazing sing! Nelly Furtado - Maneater It's better than the other Nelly song for sure, but still quite weak? It bops a bit but the production is notoriously dated. Chairlift - Moth to the Flame I actually kinda dig this? Not my favorite song here but I like it, issa vibe Billie Marten - Bird I actually really love this, very very pretty. Love the strings that come in towards the end. Freya Ridings - Elephant I liked this as well, very pretty. St. Vincent - Year Of The Tiger Not one of St. Vincent's best. I like the drums i guess. Doja Cat - MOOO! Surprisingly, it's not the worst thing here? But definitely towards the lower end of the rankings for me. I wish the melody was stronger though, I enjoyed the second part of the chorus the most. But at times the melodies do feel weak and the song is a little too long given that it’s not that dynamic. Soccer Mommy - Your Dog I liked the production and the verses on this song. The chorus is lackluster tbh, I was left thinking “oh was that it?”. I really dig the vibe though (G)I-DLE - LION This sound like the contemporary version of Eye of the Tiger. Very empowering and energetic. It’s really catchy too and I love the vocals <3 The post chorus omg Nelly Furtado - I’m Like A Bird I’ve never been a big fan of how her voice sounds in the verses, it’s too nasally imo. However the prechorus + chorus combo is just so good if you have some nostalgia attached to this song. Which luckily I do! Victoria Monet - Jaguar I’m conflicted on this one :( I love the instrumental and how it gets better with the additions it has throughout the song. I don’t think the vocals add a lot to the song tbh. Not that they’re bad but they don’t really make the song more exciting or anything imo :/ This will probably be in the middle Miguel - Wolf I honestly think Miguel is really talented and love his voice but this song is not for me tbh. The instrumental has some great elements but the song overall is not something I’d listen to. It’s nice but it doesn’t have any replay value for me :( Nelly Furtado - Maneater Honestly the 1-2-3 punch that was this song, Promiscuous and Say It Right is just great. Loose is probably one of my favorite pop eras ever when it come to the quality of the songs Chairlift - Moth to the Flame This sounds like an H&M song but the vocals are really pleasant <3 Funny how I thought “she sounds like Caroline Polachek” and turns out it’s her f. One of my favorites from this round and I’ll be adding this to my library! Billie Marten - Bird This is very haunting and pretty. It is also a bit monotonous though. I was expecting the song to reach a climax after the second chorus. Even during the last chorus it feels like it’s building up to something but it never gets anywhere :/ Freya Ridings - Elephant Sorry, I found her voice very annoying. The last part with all the instruments was cute St. Vincent - Year Of The Tiger This is a little boring. I’m not a huge fan of hers but i can definitely say that she has way better songs :( Doja Cat - MOOO! If I’m serious, the instrumental of this songs and the moo-moo-moo-moo’s are great. The rest of the song is not what i would label as great but it’s inventive and entertaining. This should do good in my rankings!
