It's kinda exciting to see who's going to top the Pop chart this week, BL is exploding right now, those updates are crazy. Don't know if it's just to push it fast since there's a new hit coming and Harry is going to serve more longevity. 

 

DSN slowing down, I believe she's gonna serve longevity, but her new single is also coming fast.

 

It's over for blackbear, but he did great, very happy, it's going to be a while since he gets such a big hit, very surprising the sucess of hgb, such a polarizing song.

 

Miss Cabello coming hard, something tells me big stations are going to jump on her and push the song at least to Top 3.

 

"Intentions" taking off, Bieber getting another solid hit. 

 

I think Pop radio is not sure about which song push to Top 10. "ROXANNE" is still inside the Top 10 because the 10-12 gap is very big, besides that, there's no strong contenders for Top 10, and callouts are showing no real interest on the half bottom of the Top 20. BEP are going to get it, imo, but since the callouts have been pretty "normal", I wouldn't be surprised if they peak fast, unless something changes. Gaga, maybe? Still curious about her callotus. Would be more than pleased if it's Halsey, f*ck Pop radio.

I'll never understand the radio love for Sucker, especially not well over a year after it was released  The song did extremely mediocre on streaming and sales, the album came and went, yet here is Sucker, still T10 on radio  It's not even that radio friendly. At least a song like Scars to your Beautiful was radio candy

To be fair though, Sucker did better on other metrics than STYB.

 

Spotify: 696M vs. 686M (keep in mind one has only been out a year while the other for 3+ years)

YouTube: 259M vs. 95M

 

BUT that being said, Sucker's biggest metric was by far radio and it's WAY overstayed its welcoming in the Top 20.

"Sucker" has become a radio staple for HAC/AC radio. Its callouts on Pop were amazing (that's why its huge longevity), but it's way more extraordinary on HAC/AC. Just to put it on context, it has way better callouts than Circles/Memories which were dominating the chart these last few weeks. Recurrent airplay is a wonderful key (and probably the strongest) for charts, and Sucker fits amazingly for HAC/AC radio, where it comes the biggest recurrent airplay. To me it totally sounds super radio-friendly on these formats' playlists. Easy to digest and super catchy. I'm totally over it and turns another station when they play it, buy radio thingz, I guess.

 

Reminds me of GLY's situation, and now it's SLY/Memories' turn.
