Gaga normalised shock value, fashion and pushing boundaries in a very stale time. The same people liking this tweet bullied her incessantly online during ARTPOP, when that was probably some of her most interesting exploration (outside of the music) Her "rebrand" allowed her to stay relevant and maintain her celebrity, when the masses were wanting to drop her completely. Since then, she's continues to win oscars, grammys, get roles in hollywood movies, launch a successful beauty brand and do stadium tours. Which, considering during ARTPOP everyone was dragging her and hoping for her fade into irrelevance, is a huge feat. So, perhaps the worst rebrand in history for YOU but certainly not for her.

Without singling anyone out in particular, I guess some of you just do NOT understand the gravity of this watershed moment linked above or the statement that she posted today. In 2011, having THE prime pop star of her generation, as a cis woman, go to bat for the trans community on primetime television proudly saying "my fans don't care and neither do I [about whether or not I have a *****]", literally THREE days after she launched her new single screaming the words "No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian transgendered life" in the bridge was actually MONUMENTAL. If you cannot give credit where it's due, that's fine! You don't have to. But at least have the basic human decency to not malign or undermine the sincere activism efforts of someone that actually had the balls to stand with a community through their thick and thin at a time when everyone wasn't as unabashed and open as she was about the said support. - This statement was really important and I'm glad that she took the time to write something so firm and eloquent. Thank you Gaga for everything that you've done over the years and the way you continue to use your voice and platform.

The way all WCBF haters who called it mid/boring/generic on release day are getting served their gigantic slices of humble pie right now....I love to see it. To be honest, even though I loved the song from the first listen, I did not see this coming. It was giving me Breathin/Into You/One Last Time aka a cute Top 15 peak, strong radio performance, and cult classic status in the long run but it's looking like one of her biggest smashes now. Oh and if there was any doubt about the next single, The Boy Is Mine re-entering the Top 10 on Global Spotify settles it. Bye/Supernatural/True Story can pray that she releases a 4th one or smth.

Lady Gaga's statement was wonderfully said. She's always been in the corner of LGBTQ+ people from the jump and I'm glad to see her continue to lend her voice even though she, as she herself acknowledges, does not speak on behalf of the transgender community. We need more people speaking like this about the trans community with their full chest. Also, props to Dylan Mulvaney. I would have not known about her at all if it weren't for the right wing's unhealthy obsession hating on her nonstop. It's admirable how much she's able to weather the bulls*** and stay true to herself. I'm sure she's a shining light for a lot of trans youth waiting for their time to live their truth.

it really feels like energetically this album doesn’t carry the “anxiety” her previous albums had. She’s singing about similar topics but she feels much more re-assured in her self and not singing from an “unsafe” place emotionally anymore. I like that.
