Total percentage points (relative to #1): 82%

Biggest 2017 hit: Praying

Album: Rainbow

Last year's position: -- [ RETURN ]

*Up - down - back up again! The most sincere empowerment songs come from those who actually has undergone discrimination and harassment first hand :) This gorl's victory is one of the most inspiring ones I've heard, + a good album full of emotions + flawless MVs, come thru Ms motha****in woman! :heart2:

Total percentage points (relative to #1): 682%

Biggest 2017 hit: Million Reasons

Album: Joanne

Last year's position: 17 [ +10 ]

* Joanne was actual a cure era, but 2 singles + 1 promo was actual short for someone like Gaga! Supposedly, the underperformance affected her, idk, but that just makes me think of the type of artist they are :'( The Cure proved me wrong quite a bit, but the lack of MV took the thought back hahaha :clap3:

Posted

P!nk, Calvin, ID, Lana, Weeknd, Rihanna, Sam, and Kendrick :alexz:

I like Eminem but not really this year.

Biggest 2017 hit: Sorry Not Sorry

Album: Tell Me You Love Me

Last year's position: 8 [ +2 ]

* Here's the baddest bad bitch in town claiming the success she deserves this year:'( SNS + TMYLM (the song) were great single choices + both MVs knock + the album is really solid + performances + THAT brand new confidence, wow, she still have Crybaby and Daddy Issues on the baf, so 2018 will be just as good, as I foresee it :clap3:

Total percentage points (relative to #1): 83%

Biggest 2017 hit: Sign of The Times, Slow Hands, Dusk Till Dawn

Album: Harry Styles, Flicker

Last year's position: 9 [ +4 ]

I could make them chart separately, but the artists in the 38-40 zone would be off, and those artists really deserve a mention so I decided to merge all these 1D boys in a single slot :)

ZAYN: Dusk Till Dawn was good, but not his best :) Still Got Time deserved better too tho :'(

Harry: Sign of the Times was epic, the other two singles are far from it tho, and the album is quite good too :alexz:

Niall: Slow Hands + TMTA are cute singles, the album is surprisingly good too, come on cutie! :heart2:

Liam: STD was bland & generic + it's awfully catchy and danceable, so that makes up for it :clap3: Bedroom Floor is nothing tho :'(

Louis: Back To You is quite great 'cause it's undeniably catchy! :) Miss You actually tickles my pop rock side, but the other attempts were pretty lame for me :'(

I hope these popular dudes use their popularity for great songs + albums!

Total percentage points (relative to #1): 85%

Biggest 2017 hit: Shape of You

Album: Divide

Last year's position: 7 [ +3 ]

* Arguably, the biggest artist in the world right now (which he does not necessarily deserve but not totally undeserved as well for all the hate he receives) :'( SoY is an undeserved biggest hit, 'cause Castle on the Hill and Galway Girl were better, but nevertheless, I'm happy for his success, especially I who have been a fan since his Plus era (hoping he can come up with stronger material next era tho, Divide was good but not on par with his part works)  :clap3:

Total percentage points (relative to #1): 85%

Biggest 2017 hit: Green Light

Album: Melodrama

Last year's position: -- [ RETURN ]

* The Queen of Alt Pop strikes back in the Artist's charts! :alexz: Melodrama is her 2nd best album (just behind Pure Heroine) but that alone defeats almost all of the released albums of 2017! :heart2: Green Light was the lead anyone would ask for, Perfect Places was THAT follow up + both MVs were gorgeous! :clap3: Idk what happened to the era after though, but I know it deserves way better :'(

Pick yourself up and be bigger in 2018! :)

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

Panic! At The Disco

: The plays of his discography alone can almost make him chart with no big single / album, ah, what a King! :jonny4:

Beyonce

: Features alone doesn't guarantee a slot, once she come up with her own single + another great album, she can once again enter the list (This ain't Billboard when it comes to credits, sorry) :alexz3:

Julia Michaels

: Issues was a BOP, but Uh Huh lacked the power to follow that up :'( I Miss You is slowly growing tho, so better luck next year :heart2:

Tove Lo

: Haven't heard Blue Lips yet :'( But Disco Tots was good, so I'll get my time when I once have her album :heart2:

The Chainsmokers

: Paris + SJLT were great BOPS as well, but that album absolutely turned me off :'( I actually slept midway of an EDM album, howbowdah?

Zedd

: Only if he has more than 1 huge hit :)

Nicki Minaj

: Come back with stronger and well-thought material hunny :beatfreak:

Future

: Stop mumbling / learn better diction and you're already okay rap will be better :)

EXO

: The 2nd KPop entry, 2018 looks promising for KPop too :celestial4:

Childish Gambino

: Gorl, Redbone deserves a video and a follow up single :beatfreak:

LANY

: Most deserved of a spot in the Top 40, maybe with more singles they can land next year :beatfreak:

Khalid

: With consistency, the good sis can do too :alexz3:

Marina and the Diamonds

: I'm just discovering the good sis, so don't drag me for this :)

The Top 2 is coming!

Album: 24K Magic

* 24K - That's What I Like - Versace On The Floor - (Chunky) - Finesse, damn, the KING really knows how to design a proper era! (Versace deserved better tho  :'( ) But really, what more can you ask from him? He's got the voice, the moves, the groove, the attitude! This generation's top male total performer indeed! :clap3:

The 20 most skipped songs of 2017 (not exactly the worst)

Ranked by how I'd prefer to hit the "next"button when the song is played :beatfreak:

These songs are those that can't be finished because I just can't :jonny4:

(This chart is not indicative of quality, a good song can be irritating too)

Posted

8HojDEu.jpg

Plays: 11

Rating: 6.7/10

Why I skip: The "it's time to say F.U." line is beyond cringey + the drop is quite basic and loud for an already overplayed genre :beatfreak:

8rkzQpL.jpg

Plays: 11

Rating: 6.2/10

Why I skip: The song attempts to be a female empowerment song (which is good) but the production is quite dragging & tired + the cover is elementary :alexz3:
