This is lowkey a wild card, it's impossible to guess how many bought it this way I don't know how UPS works though, or what the magnitude is! Does that mean that they haven't counted all the deliveries from UPS and how many people have ordered through UPS?

Erreur2 La Nature Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 That's amazing but I doubt she reaches 1.5M as announced if she did 900k in 3 days, it's only going to decline. I can see her doing 1.3M at the best, which is already fantastic.

Yes but obviously UPS had to know how many copies were ordered before the album was out. Maybe they counted them againjust to be sore and report the correct number, but I don't see that taking them a full week. I think the nielsen guy was referring to saturday or sunday when he said "later in the week". I could be 100% wrong, tho. Who knows.
KillingYourCareer Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Single-handedly saving the industry.
BZZ Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Well, she's already at the top of my expected predictions. I initally thought 950K-1.1M, and I'm sticking to it with a slight adjustment. 1.1-1.2M.

David Bakula, a senior analyst at Nielsen, said it was too soon to make a prediction about the week’s total, noting that data from direct-to-fan purchases through Ms. Swift’s website — or delivered on Taylor-branded UPS trucks — was not expected until later in the week. - direct quote from the NYT's article

And MANY people are also off on Sunday due to it being part of the weekend, so I'm expecting higher sales that day tbh... That is if everything does add up ;) Yeah thanks. I wasnt sure after the first 3 people that quoted me, but I trust you and your caps and exclamation marks In Germany gas stations are pretty much the only thing that has opened on sunday, I had no idea that was different in the US Edited November 13, 2017 by simmnfierzig
Shaner69 Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 I think they over estimated the week total if it's at this after 3 days cause the first day was over 700,000 and each following day will decrease in numbers. So 1.1m is more likely now.

So, we still might get closer to the 1.4M or 1.5M level New York Times This will probably give her a nice boost, I assume a lot of her fan base ordered from the website since it helps their chances of getting tour tickets
Guest Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 I am shocked at these numbers. With the lack of promo and bad reception to the singles, I was expecting an ARTPOP style fall from grace. The general public I think it still sick of Taylor, so it's smart to do little promo and no interviews. She's in Beyonce territory now, where she doesn't have to say boo to anybody. Good for her. Even though she was great at it, the media game must be tiring. I'd love to see the same comparisons to the rest of the field that they did with Adele's 25 debut week, especially these.. Quote 41 Percent of All Albums Sold Last Week Were 25: In total for the week, there were 8.2 million albums sold in the U.S. Thus, 25’s 3.38 million represented 41 percent of all albums sold in America. Weekly U.S. album sales between late August and mid-November fluctuated between 3.5 million and 4.2 million per week. The lowest week in Nielsen history for album sales was the frame ending Sept. 17, when only 3.51 million albums were sold. 335 Copies Sold Per Minute: With 10,080 minutes in a week, 25 sold about 335 copies per minute in the U.S. during its first week on sale. 25 Sold More than Twice the Combined Total of the Nos. 2-100 Titles on Top Album Sales Chart: 25 debuts at No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart, and its enormous sales are more than double the rest of the chart combined. Nos. 2 (Justin Bieber’s Purpose, with 184,000) through 100 (the Descendants soundtrack, with 5,000) sold 1.48 million for the week. Adele's '25' Official First Week U.S. Sales: 3.38 Million 49 Percent of All Digital Albums Sold Last Week Were 25: In total for the week, there were 3.43 million digital albums sold. 25’s 1.64 million downloads equate to 49 percent of all digital albums for the week.
chiliam Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 Tragic not even 1m On the bright side, its already the best selling album this year in pure sale.
castle13 Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 1.1M this morning according to Taylor herself.
