Mattyboy Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 (edited) Looking at the numbers now, it seems rockstar will definitely be #1. Eminem is coming next week. We may end up with 12+ #1’s this year. Edited October 14, 2017 by Mattyboy

If you go to a bar/pub, put money in the music machine (not really jukeboxes anymore), and pick a song to play, then that should count toward the Hot 100 points. Silvio agrees, since so many of the songs getting played are what's big at that time. As for the late response to the quotes, it appears notifications can get out of control when you are away for a few days lol. I'm still around, and will remain so. But times are busy, and I'll probably go back to just mainly my airplay articles next week. I went back and got my Master's to further my journalism career, so I need to put it to use! ☺

Yeah. And both songs did so for multiple weeks, as did Closer late 2016-early 2017. That's why these three songs stayed at #1 for so long. I'm not saying these songs didn't earn their time at the top. I just wish they had shared some of their weeks with the songs that only got one to two weeks at #1. Despacito was the weakest by far on airplay, but huge in sales and streaming. SOY broke tons of airplay records, and peaked on its best day just over 250 M AI, but it's sales and streaming (especially on YT) are well below Despacito. Closer was the best balanced of the three.

No, that chart only count for songs the DJ's play at the night clubs (though Silvio and I both question that chart's accuracy, since it's compiled in the same manner that the BB H 100 prior to the SS era). So I can completely understand that confusion.
Sinister Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Not too much on Ferry Wap...Trap Queen was going up against 2 of the biggest songs of the decade (Uptown Funk and See You Again) He almost had 3 songs in the top 10 at once (he was lead on all) and but one sing was at #11 that week or so Yeah he lasted a year...but what he achieved in that year is still more than what Post has achieved thus far
fridayteenage Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 so of released songs, rockstar and perfect looking next #1s?

Nnnn Ferry was ****ing massive in urban communities and as of now his career is bigger. Post will (likely) blow past him by the end of this era tho.
