Entirely due to there being an established and successful original version... if the remix with Beyonce was a stand-alone new track it wouldn’t have went top 10

And if the remix with Beyonce wasn't released, neither would the original.

But anyway, this is a remix and we all know it. Like many remixes which push minor hits into the Top 5, this is no different, and whatever you feel about it doesn't change Beyoncé's inclusion being an important factor in it achieving Top 3.

I would guess though, that if this were a stand-alone Beyoncé track, not a remix of a song people had clearly already consumed, that it could have easily went Top 10. A brand new Beyoncé track, a new production, new song, a charity single could have done this. Formation did this a quarter of a year after being free, with no radio release, no streaming, no public video, and with two days of sales missing since she released it two days into the tracking week.

Is it even an official song? I haven't listened to the freestyle though so I don't really know anything about it tbh
