And that's more of what I got out of Google Me, a song by a POC artist.

 

There were plenty of lines in Santigold's song that made it one of the highest of the round from all 4 of us.

They aren't necessarily mutually exclusive.

What was hard for me was that the challenge brief didn't ask for that tho. It asked to make fun of/critique/satirize people who need external validation. That's why all these "I'm great love myself!!!" songs didn't seem to fit for me.

You didn't need to find a song that made fun of, critiqued or satirized, but some of those who did (see @Marvin) still ended up doing well. The prompt was:

We want to go into the people of our generation and talk about how vain and vapid they are and how (social) media-obsessed they can be. Songs submitted this round should focus on the generation of people that care way too much about themselves and how they present themselves to others (and the world).
