... And #19, #14, and #3 is where they would stay (without the remix). Definitely not as impressive as #3, #1, and #1, respectively. I don't have to tell a Rihanna fan that #1s are good for business, Grammy campaigns, and label staff morale, do I? coffee2.

In case you've forgotten as 2016 is Rihanna's last #1 (which would be a crazy thing to forget after we all watched in awe/embarrassment as 14-16 remixes suddenly materialized in the attempt to bring "Lift Me Up" to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100), here you go: higher chart positions are better for morale of the artist, the album campaign, business, and Grammy campaigns. That's word to "S&M" (feat. Britney Spears).

I would too: A co-sign from a Houston OG to a newbie, all proceeds went to a Houston charity helping with COVID-19 relief in their hometown, and it was the perfect puzzle piece in the Cinderella story to get Megan her Best New Artist and Rap Grammys.

Mi Gente Remix as well. Proceeds went to Hurricane Relief, and Beyoncé only reached out to hop on a remix after Blue Ivy had been singing it repeatedly in the house.

If I'm not mistaken, "Perfect Duet" was the manifestation of Ed Sheeran saying "we should work together again" after they smashed that Stevie Wonder tribute (below) together and spent a while rehearsing together.

Literally every collab these Blackpink and BTS members did with western artists applies... rip

Ngl, ROM felt forced even though I love it

I knew to stop reading here because what rip

Those songs could've very well have still peaked as high as they did without the remix. That's literally normal fluctuation on the charts and you just made that up rip

I read the Billboard Hot 100 chart runs for all three: "Savage" was cooked as pop radio was not picking it up and Urban / Rhythmic were starting to crater, and "Mi Gente" was stuck at #19 on the Hot 100 and could not get past "Despacito" on the Hot Latin Songs chart. coffee2

"Perfect" on the other hand only had a small chance to do better, and it would've involved riding out the Holiday freeze and hoping Camila/Young Thug + Post Malone/21 Savage dropped faster, to go #1 on the first chart of 2018.

Good thing Billie said nope, you are going to be on the remix.

I'm happy you chose all three of these, because we have documented records from Billboard where Beyoncé's version came a week or two after the initial record began plateauing on radio / sales based on Hot 100 chart runs.

Hot 100 runs pre (bolded) and post B release:

  • Mi Gente? 19 -> 21 -> 3 (+#1 on Latin Songs with Remix, dethroning "Despacito" after 35 weeks on top)

  • Savage? 14 -> 14 -> 4 (partial week of Remix) -> 2 (full week of Remix) -> 1

  • Perfect? 3 -> 3 -> 1

    (Ed was about to lock in at #3 for weeks behind Post Malone / 21 Savage "Rockstar" and Camila / Young Thug "Havana" that were still trending up on radio / chart points)

???

I didn't say she didn't add to the songs success. I said she only added to already hyper successful songs, so thank you for proving my point with the numbers lol

Forgetting "Perfect" which was already at #3: If #19 and #14 are considered "hyper-successful" in your eyes, why all the smoke for Beyoncé solo songs that climb to #1, #6, and #10 and last as long or longer on the charts? It just doesn't make sense.

Karma Remix, Ice Cream, Perfect Duet, Dancing With A Stranger

I don't know who approved this. All of it: the song, the video, the styling. Iggy is truly and without a doubt the least talented artist who has ever existed. Next to her, Mili Vanilli appear like potential Pulitzer price winners.
