Besides The Cure, is there any other song that shares the same theme? I can't think of any besides Heal Me? Which was for the movie and way different.

Disease just felt like more of a bad romance. She went from wanting "your disease" (in Bad Romance) to expressing how she can cure the disease (in Disease). Throw in her wanting "your stupid love", it's like…. Even if Disease is about the battle between her and her inner demons, it can still be translated as another bad/toxic romance that consumes her (to the average listener). "The Cure" is just something in between with the same word play (dedicated to her fans). None of it has to have the same meaning as the other, but by the time you hear the lyrics for Disease it just feels very cliché and uneventful.

The same reason all her solo singles flop. Without a major collab, no one really cares

It's hard to come on ATRL and deal with the delusion. That Bruno collab has the monsters a little too excited. Gaga has been a huge commercial disappointment without collabs. She really isn't that girl anymore. She lost all artist integrity just doing collabs with anyone for a hit. The fact she's not adding DWAS to the album shows it's always been about the numbers.

in short, her songs flop because Gaga is very insincere and the GP caught up to her antics. She better have some other collabs in her bag or her LG7 will come and go.

not a good song, only her core stanbase cares about this type of music.

She needs a catchy GP friendly song the way Rihanna pulls it. Don't recall the last time she made a good  dance-pop song that was GP friendly and catchy. Chromatica is simply boring.

It kind of got lost in all the other stuff that was going on. DWAS, Joker, Harlequin, etc were all coming out and disease didn't get much in the way of promo either. It should have been released in September with some Halloween marketing. Not 5 days before. Or perhaps marketed with Wednesday season 2.

People want pulsating electro house beats from Lady Gaga and "Disease" wasn't that. The producer Andrew Watt is known for rock melodies.

I guess Interscope thought Cirkut would inject more contemporary beat driven feels in to the mix than he did.

I can't help but think Lady Gaga's team realize they do have a bunch of good songs - and they simply need to remix them prior to the album going in to vinyl production.

Stupid Love was an electro house beat and people did not want it.

Because the lyrics scanned like they had been written by a Chinese person whose third language was English.

She was ready to conquer the world with Joker, DWAS and Disease and then something happened.

DWAS is doing numbers but let's be honest it's not everywhere like APT.

It's not a good song and her voice doesn't fit these kinds of pop songs anymore.

Mature ballads like "Shallow" and DWAS is where she shines through now

No one on earth could make disease a hit. The song is just not streaming friendly. It is something you would play at some kind of cult rock concert. If Gaga serves something more digestible, she would be able to score a top 10 easily.
