US: Taylor Swift ends 2024 as #1 artist of the year with 18.4M total album units sold

It's the 2nd biggest year ever for an artist in recent history, only behind Taylor Swift's 2023 when she sold 18.9M album units in the US.

Taylor Swift's US career units in the past few years:

2021: 6.2M

2022: 9.2M

2023: 18.9M

2024: 18.4M

But @Loca didn't feel like she did so what is the truth?

Would you mind quoting any post of mine denying the fact? Because I don't think you'll find any. I just think charts are very interesting, and dissecting the way she managed to reach those units should lead to some interesting conclusions.

Are all these for the original edition or does it include all 36 of them, by the way? I imagine the total streams for the massive tracklist of 31 songs suffered no restrictions either.

You would think that releasing an album with 31 tracks and multiple variants the numbers would be bigger not smaller than in 2023.

I guess the swifties didn't like TTPD as much just like we, the casual listeners, have been saying.

Hopefully the next albums is not sh

Nearly 40m in US in 2 years alone is the most since Eminem's 2001-2002 (and even bigger than it) :deadbanana4:

This is literally complete nonsense lmao. The difference comes from having released less albums during the calendar year and from touring less in the US during that calendar year. TTPD itself is on track to be one of her most successful releases ever in the US.

Right? Especially considering 0.5 million is 1/3 of what the other girls sold in the entirety of 2024 with their latest albums.

Does anyone have the breakdown of pure physical, pure digital and SPS?

A -2.64% change from last year, oh she's OVER

If the trend continues, she won't even clear 18M next year. Flop LOSER :bibliahh:

Spoiler

When I've just cursed her, and she doesn't even clear 10M next year because TaylorMania and the Eras Tour are over

Spoiler

I don't care what the numbers are next year :suburban:

Spoiler

Just so long as it's at least n+1 of whatever the next biggest pop girl sold :suburban:

Sis, we literally just did LWYMMD and Bad Blood doesn't "feel like" diamond singles discourse this week.

I'll let OTH hold onto that less than 3% decline for their mental health

This is the US number. She toured in the US last year, released 2 Taylor's versions, Midnights was brand new and Cruel Summer was smashing. It's actually really impressive that she matched that number.
