When Madonna did the Superbowl back in 2012 after women were blacklisted after Janet, plenty of others followed suit. She has always opened the doors for others. This is just another one of those moments. Brazil saw this show worked so they probably started talking with other artists. I'm sure others will follow after Gaga. 

They think we're being salty but we're just pointing out the obvious. I guess their skulls are too thick to get the idea through

I'm sorry to say it babes, but liddos are the most insecure easily triggered fanbase, and that's a well known and established fact.

 

All you have to do is look across the many threads in this site about other artists where monsters go target those artists to minimise them. An easy look at any Beyonce, Taylor or Madonna thread has plenty of evidence of that. If you step outside and go on to social media, that's even worse.

In a thread about Lady Gaga being announced, why the heck would you expect her fans first reaction to be "Madonna's impact!!!" instead of naturally just...being excited about their fave getting the chance to headline such a historic gig so early on in her career? Just because you want it?  well guess what Mimi, not all of us are obsessed with your fave just like y'all are with Gaga.

 

And if you genuinely believe this is Madonna's impact then maybe make a separate thread about it instead of brigading the announcement thread with corny comments? Y'all had your moment earlier this year, it's Gaga's turn now and her fans aren't even allowed to be excited about it without some middle-aged seniors throwing some stale shade. Acting as if she specifically lobbied for this gig when multiple other artists have been under consideration for months, and then having the nerve to talk about holding grudges. You can't make this **** up  

 

 

The only takeaway from is that there IS in fact a decade long grudge that resides but it's definitely not on the monsters' side, let's not get it twisted.

The insecurity is right on the first page of the thread.

 

After a couple of harmless posts saying that Madonna was the blueprint for the format - and most actually from non-Madonna fans - liddos went immediately into attack mode, either trying to minimise Madonna or downplaying her as the first performer and the blueprint for the 'Celebration May' concert format in Rio, with ageist comments thrown in good amount.

 

You can be happy for your fave and your base, while not downplaying others.

 

One of the main Madonna fan accounts in Brazil made positive posts about the show immediately after it was announced. 

 

 

If you read the responses from Madonna fans, all are celebratory of Gaga and the show. Monsters are however incapable of recognising anything Madonna-related.
