Next thing they'll say is anyone who breathes just copies Madonna because she did it FIRST! Doing a concert is not some unheard of concept.

Madonna stans are currently in their **** around stage. Let them be, they are about to find out next year

Gaga is extremely beloved in Brazil, she is still current and relevant, she can sing live and she has enormous classics that are still used and listened to today. Just the thought of 1M people singing ARUTW or Shallow with her is already giving me chills.

But this is a yearly concert that caught on because of Madonna? It's right there in the article in the OP? Being the first press release of this subject? Can you read sweetcheeks? :deadbanana4: MAGA teas

Yes I am sure if Madonna didn't do her thing last year this concert series, or the art form of singing in general just wouldn't be a thing.

Is it really that hard for some liddos just to acknowledge Madonna's impact and then move on? :rip:

Well no one bothered to do it for a long time until Madonna decided to step in :clap3: Gaga following Madonna's steps as usual xx, the press agrees, Globo agrees, and Lady Gaga's team and herself agree by the looks of it, the only ones against it are some monsters serving MAGA online :sorry:

All that you said can be applied to Madonna. She is the biggest and most successful international artist in that country. She has the best selling album by female artist in that country not Gaga, her last album did really over there, she also sings live and plays the guitar and her music is till remembered because her songs are considered classic. If Gaga was so special why did they go to Madonna first and not Gaga? I'm willing to bet you she won't be paid as much as her either. The funny thing is the article brought up Madonna and her influence not Madonna fans so clearly it's not her fans who feel this way.

You cannot be a blueprint for something you're invited to. She didn't come up with this festival herself :deadbanana2:

It is NOT a festival omg. Madonna concert was planned to celebrate the 100th anniversary of a bank, the institution wanted someone as old to do a legendary show and they went after her. It was a very special occasion and the city mayor took the opportunity to promise that every year he's doing a similar event just to get votes from the gays!

So again, this was not Madonna's invention for anyone to be "shamed" for doing it too.

What makes you think this doesn't apply to Madonna as well :lmao: If you are going to be selective then I will say while Madonna was doing 5 stadiums last time she visited Brazil, Lady Gaga was doing a parking lot show for a fifth of Madonna's attendance :rip:

Gaga IS beloved but THE popstar in Brazil for the longest time remains being Madonna, implying Madonna is culturally irrelevant while mentioning a show that is happening because of her :deadbanana4:

Yes but let's not deny Madonnas importance in making this possible to Gaga or any other popstar that could have been in her place. If she didn't agreed to make that concert or if that date flopped in a way or another then we wouldn't even be discussing a free Gaga concert right now.

It is because he only said he would do it every year after hers took place and that's why it's being called Celebration May which is inspired by the name of her tour.

The takeaway from this thread is that liddos are incapable of recognising Madonna's impact, so just play dumb instead.

Nobody is 'shaming' Gaga for doing it or whatever. Good for her and her fans.

But can you people acknowledge that Madonna was the first to do the show in May this year, which has now become Rio's "Celebration Month" following her "Celebration Tour" show?

It's all there in the OP and in the news story from Globo.

The fact you aren't able to recognise that just shows liddos deeply held insecurity and decade long grudge against Madonna.
