Newsom is getting momentum, I feel like he's unhinged enough to appeal to uneducated trump voters.

Can someone explain this whole unhinged thing with him? :deadbanana2: i never considered him unhinged.

Nate Silver was floating a Whitmer/Shapiro ticket for 2028 on his podcast. He has such a hard-on for Shapiro. :ahh:

the frontrunners who will likely run in 2028 are Newso

You are not going to win an election in an envrionment where Democrats are considered privileged elites by running the guy who steals poor people's possessions and throws them in the trash and then does a photo op during it.

For now, there is no hope. The liberal-left umbrella coalition is doomed and in disarray. There is too much infighting between the far left and centre left, as opposed to community- and alliance-building.

Unless there is a massive and radical switch in the American psyche, y'all better get comfortable with a Republican government.

Our best hope is someone nobody here has heard of yet

Genuinely don't think there's a political cohort more dedicated to losing and removed from the average American than liberals.

The only name mentioned that I could possibly even think about voting for is Whitmer.

Anyone else…..

The person that we want to get behind for 2028 is not a known person right now.  Obama was not well known in 2004 and Sanders was not well known in 2012.

I would suggest that you don't fixate on a certain person and just keep your ears to the ground for who is galvanizing the most grassroots support.  The worst thing we can do is stifle the grassroots support like democrats did in 2016, 2020, and 2024.

Jon Stewart's name is being floated. He's not a politician but has a crazy amount of charisma is a revolutionary and stands for economic progressive values. No more pandering to conservative or to the right, that's why we are in the mess we are in. No more listening to the dnc..

Gavin Newsome is an amazing debater but he's seen as a California elite and a huge chunk of the country hates that. I will also say that the Patrick Bateman comparisons actually help him because Patrick Bateman is such a liked character.

Gretchen Whitmer won't, dems aren't gonna run a woman in a long time.

Josh shapiro- hell no he comes with too much baggage and scandals. Too polished as a politician

I'd love Bernie, but be real electing a 90 year old is reckless.
