I mean Work is undoubtedly one of Rihanna's worst singles but it's still miles better than all other songs mentioned here :dies:

Bonus fun - here was atrl's delusional answer in 2016:

Of course all the pop gays didn't like Work because it didn't sound like WFL or Diamonds. Tasteless faguettes!

Work supremacy!

Pretty girls, Mind your business and WW are the absolute worst ever

Bish I'm Medoner and I'm not your Momma are a bit cringe lyrics wise but not so bad all around

Hello Kitty is far from bad

Fortnight is way worse than ME!

Pretty Girls isn't bad at all, Manjobi is camp

the answer has to be Big Foot and Accelerate

It's still Woman's World. I mean Manjobi is a total disaster but it's clear no one outside will.i.am gave a **** about that. The fact that they expected Woman's World to catapult Katy and Luke back to the top of the charts in 2024 and gave it a full blockbuster rollout with big budget video and promotion is so hilariously stupid, it takes the cake.

Me! not being in the OP?!

Might be recency bias but before Woman's World I'd have said Me! But I actually think Woman's World is worse.

These are all ass to varying degrees but WW's reception is funny because a lot of pop music sounded just like that a decade ago (thematically and sonically)

Woman's World fails on all fronts:

  • It's underwritten.
  • It's dated.
  • It's juvenille.
  • It's not even catchy.
  • It's preachy while lacking substance.
  • Given the political atmosphere in 2024, as well as the fact it was produced by an alleged rapist, the song's message is woefully out of touch.
  • It betrays all the progress Katy had made musically. Rather than follow those instincts further, she panicked and chose fame and profit over artistry. And it didn't even work.

No song by any pop girl even comes within 100 miles of the artistic and commercial failure that is Woman's World.

You could argue Pretty Girls (but at least it's catchy and meant to be a little tongue-in-cheek); Accelerate, but at least it's creative; ME!, but at least it has a decent message, etc. Nothing fails at every level the way WW does.
