Couldn't even finish it in one listen. I will definitely go back to it, but I can't see myself listening to it every day, just because it makes me feel so sad I did too, like it had me so emotional. I absolutely applaud her for making such a brilliant album and I can't wait to appropriately listen to it. 1

After listening to it 5 times in full there is no reason any of those songs should have been shown off in advance. Now she has to live with the consequences of her decisions. 3

uusagii Posted October 27 Posted October 27 I have literally never heard a single song of hers, but she was good in MaXXXine
skeeyee Posted October 27 Posted October 27 It's a good album but very sad, and very heavy emotionally. There not really upbeat/boppy songs I can listen to on the day to day… IICHLIWP had both. But I understand with going through what she did, her music will reflect

Extremely low numbers and so on par with the album tracks around them, meaning that no one but her core fans was streaming them. It's fair to say she's done as a mainstream artist. I've always thought of her and Camila as exact peers, commercially. Crazy how similar this is to the XOXO performance. Difference is, I feel like Halsey can actually keep moving forward though in this new under-the-radar alt pop space she's occupying

C, XOXO was way shorter, with just 10 full songs so less people checked out. I'm sure it did marginally better overall but I think the performance is very similar overall
Bethenny Frankel Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Ouch it's a shame because it's a good album, music not the bling
Bookmark99 Posted October 27 Posted October 27 She did all that Halloween costuming for nothing lol The album is VERY mid
Souvenir Posted October 27 Posted October 27 expected, it's one of the worst albums. I dont care about lyrics the songs are unlistenable 1 1 2
Infatuation_Junkie Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Arts not the charts. The album is hauntingly stunning. It's like reading her diary. 1

Even with a less palatable album, she shouldn't be flopping this hard.
popmusicisdead Posted October 27 Posted October 27 at least the promo this time was just a photoshoot and not a whole ass movie. no 25M loss for Columbia

Anthinos Posted October 28 Posted October 28 That doesn't surprise me. Yes, the album has great lyrics and is emotional. But lyrics aren't everything. Sonically I find it very weak. Most of the instrumentals are quickly forgotten and overall I think the album is boring. She could have done more with it. The concept was interesting.
