NewStanner Posted October 29 Posted October 29 This definitely has #1 on BB200 on lock now, lol, these spotify numbers are insane
NewStanner Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Ugh, he deserved #1, but still this will be his first top 10 song so let's celebrate that at least
Automatic Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Securing the #1 song and album would've been perfect but the numbers are still amazing. I'm so happy for him

Wicked Posted October 30 Posted October 30 I appreciate Tyler taking Lil Wayne's mantle of being a proud munch. 3
Automatic Posted October 30 Posted October 30 I become more obsessed with this album every time I press play, omg. It might be my personal AOTY I especially love the display of his storytelling abilities. It's stronger than ever on this project imo. The last verse on Hey Jane >>>> 1
Jamie Starr Posted October 30 Posted October 30 This gets better with every listen. I'd place it above Call Me If You Get Lost.
Wicked Posted October 30 Posted October 30 @Soda Pop Queen they kinda touch on what I was mentioning earlier the way some of them was disregarding a chunk of the album just cause it's not "traditional" But he gives Tyler good credits otherwise which I do agree with... I'm sure this take gonna be controversial later today lol 1

I'm sure this take gonna be controversial later today lol I can't stand Budden egg head ass but I like that he gave Tyler a nod as a director, people credit that less than his lyrical skill sometimes. Also, Budden compadres (besides maybe dude on the far left) are too "cool on that" for my tastes lol of course they are your old stereotypical "traditional" hip-hop heads so they'll just disregard half the album and won't give it a chance after one listen. Though Budden gives Tyler some points at times, I always feel like he does it begrudgingly because Odd Future used to make fun of his goofy ass on Loiter Squad back in the day. He probably still mad about that Earl skit lol. And I wholeheartedly agree with them about Tyler having more heart and not being scared to say what's on his mind about music and the state of hip-hop/his peers but they didn't have to spend the whole last half on J. Cole lol. No, Tyler is who people think Kanye is AND he should be in the convo as one of the best rappers of this generation. I feel like some are low-key jealous of Tyler's jack of all trades, master at everything status so they don't like to give him TOO much but deep down they know that man got bars. 1
B-Luke Posted October 30 Posted October 30 It's so rare for me to have a whole album on repeat like that. Like since the minute it dropped. And I love how some of the lyrics still keep me on my toes even after multiple listens. His storytelling is top-notch. 1 2

There's a longer clip now they talked more about the album itself before that clip starts. Budden prefers CMIYGL and Igor to this album. But I can't see Tyler apologizing for a damn diss record (and he wouldn't put out no weak ass ****) so at least they gave him some things Tyler gotta do a whole album with Conductor Williams, Alchemist & Camouflage Monk beats w/ lyrical underground features for them to rate him as a rappity rapper. Lame asf (but I would love to hear that lol) Otherwise, cool to see everyone enjoying the album. Hope the rest of HH media treats it appropriately. 1

I'm surprised that he loves Igor lol Tyler wouldn't put out a diss record to begin with. Not because he don't got the balls or skill to do it but because I don't think he cares that much about trying to prove his lyrical prowess. NOW, if a mf pop off and say some **** about someone that he loves like his family, close friends, a partner then the gloves will absolutely come off in more ways than one but as far as just the run of the mill hating on Tyler? Nah. He wouldn't flatter any ole dusty rapper with an entire track. and yea, it's clear T gotta jump through damn hoops for a certain contingent of the hip-hop community to take his rap skill more seriously. It's some straight bs but I already told you why I think that is and it's likely something else driving their notion too, smh. Also, the fact that Tyler has already worked with or rapped on those producers beats lol If Tyler be like "**** rap" again and just go balls to the wall in vocal training and become a full blown singer, then n*ggas will be pissed and be like "we want rappity rap Tyler back." Well, you should have appreciated and rated him more as an emcee. 1
king_queen Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Hey Jane has better lyricism than most of these rappers out here who are considered lyricists 3
