KatyPrismSpirit Posted October 2 Posted October 2 143 almost outselling double the amount of Harlequin 26k is a collosal bomb 2
eclipsed Posted October 2 Posted October 2 I guess they really were going for arts not the charts with Harlequin. It being sold on her website only was definitely a choice 1

That had 3 singles, music videos, varients, many performances, collabs, original music like a normal pop roll out. Harlequin is a cover album with no physicals in stores and sold on her website only bffr you are dumb to compare the two.

But many little monsters told me Harlequin would sell more than 143 and got brave, just for Harlequin to not even debut top 15. #17 is a chop for a star as big as Gaga. Doesnt matter if its a cover album. Love for Sale was a cover album too and that went top 10? What happened. 2 4

You are really trying it to make yourself feel better about fave being panned and not doing as well If LG7 does this much then we can talk. Even if LG7 did a quarter of Chromatica it would still be more than Katy so you're really pushing it with a woman who currently has the #1 song in the world.

Doesnt matter if its a cover album. Love for Sale was a cover album too and that went top 10? What happened. L4S had 4 varients and was sold in stores. Harlequin was not. I'm not acting like these numbers are amazing, but they are to be expected. You shouldn't be comparing a major pop release to this, since when did soundtracks ever do well in this day and age, especially one full of jazz covers and showtunes. ASIB is literally an anomaly and those were all originals. Like I said if LG7 does worse than Katy then the lashings would at least have some merrit but these takes are giving brain dead, which is expected from ATRL but still Oh and also "in the middle of a hate train" then how do you explain Smile Gaga has never had a studio album perform as badly as Smile/143 Edited October 2 by eclipsed
KatyPrismSpirit Posted October 2 Posted October 2 These are the peaks of all of Lady Gaga's albums (including studio albums, collaborative studio albums, soundtrack albums and "companion" albums). (Billboard 200) 2008: The Fame — #2 2009: The Fame Monster — #5 2011: Born This Way — #1 2013: ARTPOP — #1 2014: Cheek To Cheek — #1 2016: Joanne — #1 2018: A Star Is Born — #1 2020: Chromatica — #1 2021: Love For Sale — #8 2024: Harlequin — #17 (HDD early prediction) Note: This list excludes limited edition compilations and remix albums. Hopefully Harlequin gets a bigger boost after the movie comes out so it can go top 10 and the streak will be saved. What do you think? 4 1
Popular Post Klein Posted October 2 Popular Post Posted October 2 The Kats are seeing even the smallest semblance of a win and they're gonna ignore any context and just enjoy every single piece of it to the fullest. Ngl, I would probably do that too if I was in their place. 1 29
Popular Post Infernal Paradise Posted October 2 Popular Post Posted October 2 Probably. But at least she will continue to fill stadiums for the rest of her career as the generational and beloved performer that she is. See what happens when your career depends on your talent and artistry instead of song by song and album by album? 22

But yes, I agree she needs to stick to dance pop when it comes to new releases

mike_int Posted October 2 Posted October 2 I dont even consider as Gaga album, just like I didnt consider Star Is Born or the Jazz albums. I think mistake they did with Harlequin is to announce it literally days before release with no single before and Die With Smile not being on the album. Die With Smile overlap with Harlequin too much. It is also mostly album of covers and mostly in Jazz style, this is not something regular Gaga listener is interested in. I enjoy Happy Mistake and maybe 1-2 other guitar driven songs on the album but I dont feel like listening Jazz outside of theater or thematic bar I think it is nice companion to the soundtrack and that is it, but I understand some Gaga haters will jerk off their egos that it wont be commercial success, but I dont think it ever was planned to be. 5

Exactly + She will also most definitely go #1 with lg7 and top 10 with her new lead so she's gonna be more than fine 1
Dante Posted October 2 Posted October 2 not bad for a hokey pokey jazz album side project released on a friday of a slow week connected to a flop movie not caused by gaga herself
