They are not representative of the overall audience, they have their own pretty questionable biases and prejudices, so I don't get why would be of any significance for them to deem someone/someone's music good or bad at all. I agree, maybe it was an unnecessary detour from an overall argument that Midnights and TTPD are letdowns after an incredibly strong artistic period for Taylor

The best guest star she could get for those dates was Gracie Abrams. She must have had trouble booking the stages after everyone was up in arms about the variants. A shaky ending. TTPD has some of her best lyricism and Midnights is a much better pop album than Rep and Lover 3
