Ponzi Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Lmao I guess no one saw that coming. I agree with the score though, album is fun and it's great pop music. There are no skips for me on it. But they're still a joke for giving Billie's such a low score.

motherfossora Posted August 26 Posted August 26 i only take pitchfork seriously when they acclaim my faves 2
UnusualBoy Posted August 26 Posted August 26 The album is cute but nowhere near HMHAS level of good, p4k is a mess.
Jay07 Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Fully convinced they're going for ragebait now. Nothing against Sabrina and the album is cute but an 8 when Billie got 6.8? 5
Luckitty Posted August 26 Posted August 26 the industry is trying so hard to make this girl big they've been spending so much money trying to make her happen, how does an artist keep getting investment to make new albums after each one flops and makes 0 money new artists get dropped after releasing 1 flop album and this girl managed to release like 5 flop albums and 3 flop EPs 1
ctlp27 Posted August 26 Posted August 26 As nice as this album is, this score is really not realistic.

Especially after The Eras Tour.
Life Savers Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Oh she's really serving TABS this era and ATRL hates to see it. 1
fromily Posted August 28 Posted August 28 yeah an 8.0 is crazy and basically click bait courtesy of conde nast. the recent retrospective on blackout - one of the defining pop albums of the 21st century - scored an 8.1 which... was a choice? anyway gonna go listen to imaginal disk now because i haven't yet and i'm psyched so thanks pfjork i guess~ 1 1

slw84 Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Well she's likely getting enough industry support for a grammy. Good for her. I enjoy the album
no_better Posted August 29 Posted August 29 After p4k's review I listened to this album and I was pleasantly surprised, some fun songwriting and really gorgeous instrumentation and production, but I do think that 8.0 is too high. Especially when considering that a far superior album, Magdalena Bay's Imaginary Disk, was released on the same day and got a 7.7... Come on, listen to both of those album and tell me that if Magdalena Bay sounds like 7.7 then Sabrina *must* sound like an 8.0... I'm sorry but that's ridiculous - do they have a pair of working ears at their office?
JasonGosling Posted August 30 Posted August 30 The album is not bad at all. Indeed, I quite like it. But to put it on the same level with Folklore, which also received an 8.0 from Pitchfork, is just an injustice.
Phaunzie Posted August 30 Posted August 30 (edited) Hmmm...interesting. Deserves lower There is no way an album with Death & Romance should get lower that S&S. No Maam Edited August 30 by Phaunzie
