I'd take the US over Germany any day.

I can't stand an emotionally cold country (compare Germany, England, the Netherlands, Russia, and Scandinavia to South America, Australia, the Philippines, and Greece) where people are awkward about giving condolences, think crying is something to be ashamed of, and are overly well-mannered to the point of lacking humanity.

Give me the US: vibrant, brash, in your face, too bright and too loud.

Omg don't even get me started on waiters. :rip: I know several and if you're not in a random diner on the outskirts of nowhere, you can easily clear $300 to $400 a shift CASH, thanks to tips. Which works out to around $80K a year, I've known some who even clear six figures. Basically making the same salary as a  scientist or other specialized skill. :rip: It's ridiculous. And they always want to hire hot women because men will tip them more. Meanwhile their tip out is like $1 to the rest of the staff - the runners are shafted despite working just as hard.

The whole system is dumb as ****. Pay your servers a living wage!

By the way, servers can and will remember you. I give ten percent service for ten percent tippers

This doesn't make sense to me. Shouldn't it just be a dollar amount, if anything? Afterall, the price of the menu item has nothing to do with the level of service you provide. If anything, that tip should go to the chef because a more expensive dish would be more difficult to make (in theory).

If someone came in just for a coffee and tipped you 20% and it wound up being like 30 cents, wouldn't that be insulting? You still gave the same level of service as you would if it were a full meal.
