Sad Beautiful Tragic Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Katy was one of the biggest pop stars of the 2010s, boasting a catalogue of multiple platinum global hits. However, as time went on, her subsequent releases failed to replicate the success of her earlier albums. Some critics suggested that her decision to adopt a short hairstyle was a factor, with a few even claiming she was experiencing a personal struggle of some sort. More recently, her collaboration with Dr. Luke, given his controversial history with Kesha, has only added to the criticism. With her singles not performing as well as her team had hoped, she has faced ridicule, disparaging remarks, and doubts about her legacy as a hit-maker. Do you feel sorry for Katy given the online vitriol, hate, and bullying she is experiencing? 1 1
Erreur2 La Nature Posted August 16 Posted August 16 « Britney era decline » did 15M lmao what kind of troll is this
Sheep Posted August 16 Posted August 16 (edited) No. Will always love her but she did this to herself. The hate comments and death threats are a different story but she deserves to be criticized. Edited August 16 by Sheep
Strawberry Bubble Posted August 16 Posted August 16 i used to miss her golden years back in 2021. But she's really not a smart businesswoman. This was supposed to be her comeback, and she released two of her worst songs ever. It is almost impossible to protect her right now. 6 1
Shinkirou Posted August 16 Posted August 16 There's nothing to feel sorry about. She could have 50 flop eras more after this one and still thousands of people in the industry would kill to have the kind of career and legacy that she has had 6
Katy.Kat.23 Posted August 16 Posted August 16 She's on her third flop era in a row and "hasn't had a hit in 2 presidential terms" but she's still top 30 in monthly listeners on Spotify so I think she's doing ok 1

Mordecai Posted August 16 Posted August 16 I don't like the hate bandwagon she's receiving (especially from the media where it's clear some are only doing it for clicks) but I wouldn't care so much if the music was good. WW and Lifetimes are a step down from her previous efforts, even Smile is much better than what we've heard so far
Windy Day Posted August 16 Posted August 16 no. on top of being an horrible person, she doesn't take her music and career seriously, but to be honest, she doesn't seem bright enough to do so. she simply got lucky with her first three albums

Yeah her career decline was unfortunate but it's not like she didn't have a taste of success before that and it's not like she herself is not to blame for a lot of her career mistakes. If she decides to get her shite together and actually try to reinvent herself as an artist and thus strive to get that recognition she deserves, then good for her. But if not, then that's also her choice and I'm fine with it. She's already set for life and maybe doesn't want to prove anything at this point. So no, I don't feel sorry for her. 3
Brooklyn Baby Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Yes, I'm sorry that she can't evolve as an artist and try something new 1 1 1
Gladiator Posted August 16 Posted August 16 I have a hard time finding empathy in me towards rich and powerful people who suffer minor inconveniences like their new song being made fun of. 1
Daglazzo Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Who cares leave this "has been" behind and stream this classic 10 5 1 1 2
mael Posted August 16 Posted August 16 a millionaire who went back to dr luke after everything that transpired? **** that ***** 4 1
ChooseyLover Posted August 16 Posted August 16 (edited) I feel sad for her, not sorry for her. She made these choices and it could've turned out either way but I'm glad it turned out for the worst considering the people involved. Edited August 16 by ChooseyLover 2

WW i agree, but Lifetimes??? it's literally one of her best songs 1 1 1
BornUnbroken Posted August 16 Posted August 16 I feel bad for her. Joyride, Kesha's first independent Dr. Luke-free release, has been doing double the daily streams as Woman's World and it'll likely surpass Lifetimes daily streams by next week. Must be embarrassing being outstreamed by the woman she and her team clearly thought nobody cared about anymore. 7 1 1
thatsmydemi Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Yes, but at the same time, she's the one doing this to herself.
