Canon Posted August 14 Share Posted August 14 Welcome to Slasher! 'The Withering Woods' You ready to Stabba-Hoe? - What is Slasher? 'Slasher!' is one of the earliest Mafia-Style internet forum games. In this social-deduction elimination game, you are assigned one of two Teams. Campers or Slashers. By voting each Round, each Team must eliminate all the members of the opposing side. The Winning Team is determined when: - The Camper Team eliminates all Slashers Players [Campers Win] or - The number of remaining Slashers are greater than the number of remaining Campers. [Slashers Win] The Lore "Some secrets are better left buried…" 6 years after the tragic events at Camp De-Cappa-Lot and Camp Stabba-Ho, the grieving friends and family's of the deceased haven't given up hope on unraveling the mystery of the grisly camp murders. The news media may have shelved the story and the case may have gone cold, but they are determined to find answers. Bonding over their shared loss, the mourners rev the engine of their bus and travel deep into the night towards the long forgotten campsite. Unbeknownst to the group, relatives of the unknown Slashers have infiltrated the excursion and will stop at nothing to keep the secrets buried, even if it means sabotaging the bus's breaks. - The Slasher's plan was a success. During the night, when all that were visible were the headlights of the doomed yellow automobile, the breaks 'conveniently' fail as the vehicle violently veers towards a steep cliffside. Tumbling down the mountain in a myriad of spins, the bus crashes to the bottom of a rocky crevasse with a thunderous eruption. In a twist of fate, everyone survives the crash, but find themselves stuck between the sheer cliff and the suffocating darkness of the forest. With only their wits, determination, and the guidance of moonlight, the new 'Campers' must navigate the seemingly never-ending woods, as the new Slashers must make sure they never see a new dawn, by any means necessary. The Gameplay Game Setup 'Here we go again...' Approved Players will receive a PM with their assigned Team and Role. This is done in secret. If you received a Slasher Role, you will instead be in an ATRL Group Chat with your fellow Slashers. The longest night of the rest of your life... 'The Moonlight guides us...' As per the Lore of this season, instead of the usual Day/Night cycle, it is now one long Night. As a group, you all will traverse the Withering Woods, hoping to find safety. Along the way, Players will encounter Special Items, Events, and Eliminations. Stay alert! - This Seasons Twist Branching Paths "Lets Split-Up Gang..." While traversing the Withering Woods, your singular Path forward can 'Split' During a Split, Players will be shown different Branching Paths, each with a different hidden Item/Event that will occur if they choose them. The Items and Events during these Splits will be further explained once everyone Votes on a Path. These Items and Events can either aid or hinder your survival experience. Choose carefully! Branching Paths will eventually converge back into a single Path. Groups "Keep your Slashers close, and your fellow Campers closer..." After your choose a Path during a Split, you will form into multiple separate 'Groups'. During this time, items, events and eliminations can only target fellow Players within your Group. You cannot target other Players in other Groups that you are not in. Eliminations "It's you! You're a Slasher!...' At various points in this season of Slasher, Players will die via Vote Elimination. When asked of you, you will cast a Vote to Eliminate a fellow Player. The Player with the majority Vote, or whomever collected a tied-majority the votes the fastest, is Eliminated from the game. Items "Oh! I can definitely use this..." Items can be acquired throughout the game. An item's ability is initially secret to all players. The receiver of the Item will be told of the Items ability via Private Message. Any additional Rules about the item will also be revealed to the receiver. Events "Oh God! What's happening!?...' Events will sometimes occur on Paths. Players participating in the Event will need to follow the directions and resolve the situation. Events can be beneficial or a hinderance, depending on your end goal. - Team Roles: Each Team will have varying Roles associated with a Special Ability. Players with the specified Role can use their Special Abilities to help identify and eliminate the opposing Team. The Roles are as followed: Camper Team Roles Spoiler Ability: 'Vote' 'You're an Ordinary Camper. Just try to survive the Night!' - Ability: 'Your First Time' 'The first time your are to be eliminated by any means, you escape death and survive. But only once by this effect.' - Ability: 'Super Hot!' 'Anytime you Vote, your Vote is counted as 3 instead of 1.' - Ability: Mind Reader 'Once per Round, choose a Player in your Group. Their associated Team is revealed to you. When successfully used, you sever the connection to The Other-Side and must perform a Seance to use this ability again.' Ability: Seance Instead of Voting to Eliminate another Player, you can perform a Seance instead. When you perform a Seance, you reconnect to The Other-Side, allowing you to use Mind Reader in the following Rounds. You still vote, but your vote is voided during the Voting to Eliminate process and will not be counted when you use this Ability. - Ability: 'Slash-Proof Vest' 'The Player receives one 'Slash-Proof Vest. This vest protects a wearer from one instance of being eliminated by any means. Once it's effects are used, it is removed from the game. Once per Round, The Player can choose to use it on themselves or any other Player in their Group. The Slash-Proof Vest returns to the Cop Player at the end of a Round if it's effects are not triggered. - Slasher Roles: Spoiler Ability: 'Slash' 'You're an Ordinary Slasher. Just try to kill all the Campers!' - Ability: 'Fake Alliance' 'Anytime your Team/Role would be revealed to another Player, the revealer is told you are 'Team Camper' or a 'Camper' If you are Eliminated by any means, you may choose any Camper Role. The Role you choose will be announced to everyone as that Role instead of 'Sicko'. Your true Role will be revealed once the game concludes.' - Ability: 'Vote Swap' Once per Game, during any Item or Event Voting, your vote overrides everyone else's Vote in your Group. Your sole vote decides the outcome and is secretly voted via the Slasher Private Group Message. - Rounds, Groups, Paths & Splits Explained: Example Round [In the Spoilers Below] Spoiler The Game begins with 8 Players all assigned with their Camper/Slasher Roles. 6 Campers and 2 Slashers. Ann (Camper) Beth (Camper) Cate (Camper) Dave (Camper) Evan (Camper) Finn (Camper) Greg (Slasher) Harry (Slasher) As Host, I begin Round #1 I announce the Players have been traveling along their Path through the Withering Woods and the Path Splits! The Split shows there is now an Upper Path and Lower Path. The Upper Path shows an Item The Lower Path shows an Event The two Paths converge at the end with a Vote Elimination The Host asks all Players to publicly post which Path they choose to take. The Players then post their choice. Upper Path [Item] Ann (Camper) Beth (Camper) Cate (Camper) Dave (Camper) Greg (Slasher) Lower Path [Event] Evan (Camper) Finn (Camper) Harry (Slasher) Players in the Upper Path resolve the Item by voting to see who receives the Item. Since Ann, Beth, Cate, Dave, and Greg, are the only ones in that Group, they can only Vote for each other. The Player with the most votes receives the Item. Ann receives the most votes in this example and gets the Item. Players in the Lower Path are hit with an Event that forces them to 'Cause Suspicion' on another Player. 'The 'Cause Suspicion' makes it so the unlucky winner of the vote receives an automatic +2 Votes against them during the next Vote Elimination. Since Evan, Finn, and Harry are the only ones in that Group, they can only Vote for each other. Finn receives the most votes in this example and receives the effects of 'Cause Suspicion' The Upper and Lower Path converge after both Item and Event conclude and the Vote Elimination occurs. All Players come together and Vote to Eliminate one Player from the game. In this example, due everyone socializing and the 'Cause Suspicion' effect, Finn receives the most Votes and is Eliminated.
