Concentrating on the song itself only (which is hard with Luke involved), how can a team of like 10 people release a bad dance song with about 10 unique lyrics in the whole song. That can work if the production wasn't more basic than a generic 2016 EDM track. And the vocal production on this and WW both sound horrible. Like how are these alleged professionals? I honestly need a behind the scenes video of them in the studio.

dr. luke and team always phone it in and never give their best stuff to "over the hill" pop stars. max martin is the same way. older pop stars should look to up and coming producers who are hungry and excited to work with them.

Katy couldn't even sustain TWO eras of success and make it past the same DECADE. 

You're being super delusional. Katy had three very successful eras, plus two moderate ones. Also Smile was more successful overall than Witness, so she even revived a bit. 

And comparing pure sales of someone who debuted in the 80s to someone who started in 2008 is really not smart.  also the 2000s and 2010s are two seperate decades.

Katy is the only high profile popstar that would be willing to openly work with Luke. This was not only supposed to be Katy's comeback, it was also supposed to be his; a chance to be re-instated as a major mainstream pop producer that everyone can work with, no longer lurking in the shadows waiting for a female rapper to seek a crossover hit or for Kim Petras to happen. So he's definitely not phoning it in. This is genuinely the best he can do.
