aesthetic bih Posted August 6 Posted August 6 What you just stated is your preference. But that doesn't mean that the whole world has to agree with your unpopular opinion. The world continues to recognize Whitney and Mariah among the very best vocalist to ever graced on earth. Literally irreplaceable and "you had to be there" moment. Adele is an above average singer who had a successful career, that's all.

Also, you brought up Mariah and Whitney who are both from the 80s and early 90s so you are exposing your own ignorance, "modern day music listener". If Adele peaked a decade ago, then what about Mariah, lol?

gatito Posted August 6 Posted August 6 adele's technique is crap, isn't she always getting vocal injuries? cancelling tour dates and all and she's probably too cocky to ever accept she needs proper training

I never felt anything emotional when listening to Whitney or Mariah but when I listen to Adele's voice I could cry. Whitney and Mariah I admire their voice for their power and range but Adele's voice makes me FEEL things. Period. When it comes to technical side. Whitney and Mariah are on top in this case, however I understand your point regarding being able to identify with Adele songs and it is cause she wrote them all and they are all mostly about love, either from good or bad point so when she sings them there is more emotions. Whitney didn't write her songs. Mariah being good songwriter has wider range of songs and wider topics so they are sometimes harder to identify with on personal emotional level. The question is if Adele can keep this level for next 10-20 years, if yes she will be on the same "legend" spot as now Celine,Mariah,Whitney
TeemoR Posted August 6 Posted August 6 I totally see what you are saying. I do think it's also a little subjective. Personally, I feel more emotion in Adele's voice than I do in Mariah's. Whitney > Adele > Mariah
hindsight Posted August 6 Posted August 6 well, her tone is beautiful, she emotes well and her music is better so...

Soda Pop Queen Posted August 7 Posted August 7 (edited) Y'all just say anything on here. The fact that Adele herself would read you for this is what's stopping me from dragging you (and Adele) for filth If Adele gives you the FEELS more than Mariah or Whitney then that's whatever but to imply the other two lack expression just because they're more technically skilled than she is, is quite ludicrous.
