By the Water Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Beyoncé 8th studio album, Cowboy Carter, has departed the UK albums chart this week. For reference, Renaissance spent its first 38 weeks on chart, Lady Gaga's Artpop exited after 16 weeks, Joanne after 20 weeks and Chromatica after 21 weeks and Katy Perry's Witness departed after 14 weeks. This happens after Texas Hold Them became Beyoncé's longest running #1 in the country as well. So, what went wrong? Is Cowboy Carter officially a flop? Can Beyoncé bounce back? 4 4 3

Armani? Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Ask Beyoncé, she abandoned the era And no, Country Carter is not a flop. 1 2
bielneira Posted July 15 Posted July 15 'COWBOY CARTER' is not that interesting, and she barely invested on it.

Walk_Away21 Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Wait not a witness level chart run despite a massive #1 single wtf 3
Armani? Posted July 15 Posted July 15 So Witness spent 14 weeks on the charts and it's still not Gold in the UK? 5
TheHanyo Posted July 15 Posted July 15 (edited) that album has so much filler-- like no one wanted Beatles and Dolly covers tf, especially in the first half of the album. She should have committed to the genre and gave an album full of THEs. (Edit: same reason Joanne flopped tbh... tried to make too many people happy) Edited July 15 by TheHanyo 4
Minto Posted July 15 Posted July 15 the uk chart rules kill off albums way too early and CC basically had one single because whatever was going on with II most wanted is for another day

Pheromosa Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Do us a favor and tell her it takes more than IG pics to push album units, she won't listen to us 3
Popboi. Posted July 15 Posted July 15 The streams are horrendous and pure sales in general are beyond dire, the 5th, new vinyl variant barely helped in UK. 1
Blue Monday Posted July 15 Posted July 15 She abandoned the era faster than Renaissance it's truly so infuriating...

Starshine Posted July 15 Posted July 15 She had this old ass album in the vault and did not want it to go to waste, she got her quick cash grab.
jeffersonairplanes19 Posted July 15 Posted July 15 (edited) ya'll gon have to accept that beyonce is no longer at the point in her career where charts matter to her. If they did she probably wouldn't have abandoned her last two albums weeks after release. Edited July 15 by jeffersonairplanes19 5
Brikenbur Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Girl she's fine. Just focus on your digital album collection that's collecting dust in your Files app.

itshyolee Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Oh I see what this is. Y'all are getting dragged in that other thread for being idiots and coming for Whitney Houston, so now you're coming for Bey
Attaboy Posted July 15 Posted July 15 1. Boring uneventful era. She didn't seem interested so the people lost interest. 2. Good but tedious album. It needed pushing until general listeners came around to it 3. We are getting fed with other releases this year and CC was left in the dust
