And he already responded and said he isn't going to. As much as we dislike him for it we need to move on.

It's too late.  The question of whether Biden is too old to be an effective leader will remain the defining issue of this election so long as he stays in the race.  You might fall on one side or the other, but that will be the debate everyone will have for the next 4 months.

Biden's age is like Hilary's emails in 2016.

I don't see this ever happening, but if we're entertaining the idea:

Marianne should replace him, but she likely doesn't have enough time to campaign to beat Trump in November. Michelle is too in kahoots with the DNC's agenda and too close to Biden to even be up to replacing him, unless he gives her his blessing which he never would because he's a stubborn egomaniac who is obsessed with power.

It's really so ******* disgraceful how we've gotten here. 4 months out from a presidential election and now we're left scrambling for another option, knowing good and well it's too late in the game for any new candidate to stand a chance. Biden handed the presidency to Trump months ago. The blood of this country is entirely on his hands. If Trump rips us all of right after right, less people will be mad at him and more people will be mad at Biden for this. Biden will not win. Not a chance. Neither will anyone else (I hope I'm somehow wrong). Again I say- Biden can burn in hell. He's ****** up this country like no one else has before.

Purely based on what I've seen and not grounded in any type of realistic chances, AOC with a Katie Porter VP ticket.

But in reality, we're gonna need to rally behind the Silent Gen'er in November unfortunately. :katie:

Get Steve Bullock back out there

Any of them, because every single Democrat would lose and I want to laugh at the excuses people would make for why *insert* candidate here lost to Trump

The streets are saying Obama is eyeing Whitman to replace Biden.

I'm not her biggest fan, but Kamala would be the only candidate who could have access to the campaign funds (which I think is over $200 million). With either Josh Shapiro (swing state governor) or Andy Beshear (Dem governor of a red state) as a VP.

This. Money is everything and she would be the only one who could use Biden's campaign war chest. So she wins just by that alone 🤷

Lol, independents are not doing that. At this point, they hate Joe Biden even more than Republicans do.

Biden is a stubborn ******* and will refuse to back down. I'm sorry, but this man is MORE than willing to sacrifice the country for his own ego. :rip:

:alexz: Turn the White House into a bunker.  Give Joe a helmet, a military machine gun, grenades and a mini-tank and let the Republicans attempt his removal come January.  It will be his turn at an insurrection

Whitmer is the most electable. However if he does step down, it'll be Kamala.

Didn't he already confirm he isn't going anywhere? As much as as we are annoyed him/his age/his candidancy, we need to move on from this talking point and focus on what really matters--beating Trump

His donors are against him, his party is against him, the polls are against him and, more and more, the liberal media apparatus is against him. The issue of his age isn't going away since he lacks the stamina to convince voters.

It doesn't matter what he wants; when your party wants you gone, it's only a matter of time until you're gone. It happened with LBJ, Blair, Thatcher and it'll happen with him too.

Pelosi saw his refusal to step down and responded in veiled terms: "Wrong answer. You have a few days to prepare your exit."

OT: Kamala.

This does make me wonder what would be a bigger talking point that Dems will at.some point have to address:

- Kamala's prosecutor past

- Gretchen being the heiress to a health insurance giant and family wealth rooted in denying people care

Its going to be Kamala if not Biden

100% it will be Kamala, they wouldn't want to lose the funding (which will happen if it isn't her)

I like Whitmer and Pritzker and feel like they'd both have a much better shot. Maybe not Pritzker since he's a True Zionist which will drive a lot of the so-called base insane.

theyre probably ****** no matter what. Establishment dems aren't trusted or popular with anyone other than coastal boomers

In a perfect world, Marianne. In our dystopian reality, Kamala.

It doesn't matter. Could be anyone. It's over.

No one can defeat Trump at this point.

I don't think so! Might show the public that the Dems have a spine for once if they make Biden step down

Gretchen Whitmer

Why?  She can and would win Michigan and Wisconsin.  With those two states, you stand a pretty good chance of winning the whole election regardless of how famous you are in Louisiana or California.  And I want to win

I'll take Harris.  I actually kind of like her.  But I want to win and winning means finding someone who will win Michigan and Wisconsin.

I agree Whitmer would bring home the rust belt.

Problem is, the replacement has to be Kamala. You cannot overlook the first black and first female VP without pissing people off.

Kamala and Whitmer would be so good, but IDT America would elect two females.

Considering Trump is now a convicted felon, I do actually think Kamala's past experience could be used to bolster her. :rip:

It's less of a "problem" than you might think it is.  In fact I would argue that the line of thinking that someone is owed something or that it is "their time" is how we got into this mess in the first place with Biden.

The issue with the Democratic Party regarding identity politics is they don't really understand the difference between tokenism and power sharing.  Kamala was chosen as VP almost purely as a token prize to Biden's base.  As a result, they did not actually have a concept for how they wanted to position the VP role and that is why her VP run has not been very successful.  Further elevating her as to the presidential candidate again as a token will not do her or the party any favors.

I think there is a strong argument for Harris regardless, but I think the idea that we have to pick her for reasons of her identity is rather thin.
