Many indications are pointing towards an open convention due to Biden's disastrous polling numbers, alleged cognitive decline, and inability to fundraise. Who should the delegates select at the convention to run against Donald Trump?

Okay, but imagine her on a debate stage with Trump. She'd murder him. :WAP:

It's not gonna happen. Either vote Biden or accept Project 2025.

It's entirely possible.

Didn't he already confirm he isn't going anywhere? As much as as we are annoyed him/his age/his candidancy, we need to move on from this talking point and focus on what really matters--beating Trump

The dam is breaking. More and more voices are calling on him to dropout.

Won't happen. Unless he dies he wont step down. Trumps victory is all but secured at this point.

The past 5 years is like watching the Titanic sink.

And he already responded and said he isn't going to. As much as we dislike him for it we need to move on.

More donors and high profile officials have called on him to drop out since then. He's only the presumptive nominee, not the official nominee until after the convention.

I'm not her biggest fan, but Kamala would be the only candidate who could have access to the campaign funds (which I think is over $200 million). With either Josh Shapiro (swing state governor) or Andy Beshear (Dem governor of a red state) as a VP.

I don't know how it wouldn't be Kamala Harris tbh. As one might know the duty of the VP is to step in if the president is unfit to govern

Also not Bernie when he's older than Biden :deadbanana4:

In that same sentence, he said he's going to beat him again in 2020.

In my dreams it's Marianne but Kamala is the obvious choice as every other candidate would have a huge funding disadvantage.

I think Kamala is the safest bet. Whether she wins? I'm 50/50. People (even likely some of those cheering for her now on this forum) said really awful things about her (eta to add: during the 2020 primaries and when she was picked as VP nom). She's also tied to the Biden administration and it's policies... and failures.

Where's the AOC poll option :suburban:

I tried and the elite didn't listen

Kamala's really the only answer that makes sense, but of course if I personally could pick anyone it'd be Marianne

I'd love to see her run, but it's too early for her. she's 34, turning 35 this fall. the minimum age requirement to take office is 35, so while she is eligible in theory, she would be campaigning while too young, which I'm sure will work against her now and in any future possibility of her campaign.

AOC 2028/2032 though? :jonny:

Gretchen Whitmer

Why?  She can and would win Michigan and Wisconsin.  With those two states, you stand a pretty good chance of winning the whole election regardless of how famous you are in Louisiana or California.  And I want to win

I'll take Harris.  I actually kind of like her.  But I want to win and winning means finding someone who will win Michigan and Wisconsin.

I think Marianne has the best shot

It should be Marianne or Kamala. I hate Kamala but it'd be undemocratic to put someone like Newsom, Whitmer etc. on the ballot since they didn't go through a primary process. The people did not get to vote for them in a primary.

Biden is a stubborn ******* and will refuse to back down. I'm sorry, but this man is MORE than willing to sacrifice the country for his own ego. :rip:
