nostalgic Posted July 9 Posted July 9 When you see her gargantuan success - charts, tours, awards, critical acclaim, cultural domination - what do you feel? When you take into consideration the hard work and determination that led her here and leave any personal bias for or against her work at the door - are you happy for the little girl from Pennsylvania that started as a humble country starlet singing about Tim McGraw becoming pop culture's inescapable empress? Does track 11 on Radical Optimism start playing in your head when she's at #1? And if not, why? 1
M!X Posted July 9 Posted July 9 (edited) I mean sure, however I do hope she is better mentally than what TTPD suggests, which is an extremely bleak album I would say The Prophecy is one of her best and most honest songs and you can tell how much unhappy she's been with her life recently, at least based on the lyrics. I hope her new relationship makes her genuinely happy and she is enjoying her success these days. That's basically what I think would matter more, she was already mega successful even without TTPD and eras tour. Edited July 9 by M!X 8
JoeAg Posted July 9 Posted July 9 idk if I feel one way or the other about her success I guess if I put thought into it, I'm happy she's given us some of the songs she has, and I guess I'm also a bit annoyed sometimes at how she's getting a bit overexposed and I guess I'm a bit jealous as a songwriter that I could never find a similar level of success she had back in the Speak Now or Red OG eras and I guess I am happy that she has potential to give higher quality music in the future than TTPD so... not happy but ambivalent? but also just chillin and thinking about other stuff mostly 3
xXavril Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Yes tbh. her antics annoy me sometimes, but she got what she wanted and I'm happy for her. I do hope that once she gets the last two TVs out of the way and the era tour ends she takes a breather and lets the seemingly never ending swift mania die down 2
Strawberry Bubble Posted July 9 Posted July 9 I feel more than happy; I feel proud of her. I know many people really want to see her downfall. Proving so many people wrong and achieving so much is something I truly value about her: she really is the queen of hard work. 2
NoOneDiesFromLove Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Yes, the people who said no are miserable and tbh quite funny 2 1

Illuminati Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Yes, I think there is a big lack of female artists of her size. And someone has to punch out all the talentless men clogging up the charts 1
Minto Posted July 9 Posted July 9 i'm happy for the few songs she churned out that i saved and that's where the relationship ends
illia Posted July 9 Posted July 9 I feel rather indifferent If she was my sister or best friend, then yes
Goaty Posted July 9 Posted July 9 It's less "happy to see her succeeding" and more "happy to witness this part of music history" 1 1
MidnightsAtPeace Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Yes. I feel like she's been working so hard for the last 20 years to achieve what she has now. I'm so happy for her
