SinnerCity Posted June 7 Author Posted June 7 It's not exactly what I was expecting but it seems Perrie is testing the waters with different sounds very much like Leigh-Anne did so I'm going to wait for the full thing before making a judgment.

alexaalto Posted June 7 Posted June 7 the cover art could've been a photo from that snippet set, bet it would've been amazing with that look
zeta Posted June 7 Posted June 7 I was trying to find what it reminded me off and the melody of last line of the chorus reminds me of Glimpse of Us, which she said she was a big fan off.
WERKER Posted June 7 Posted June 7 OMG!! Did I tempt fate with the Sabrina Carpenter vibes. Imagine if she released this first, the same week with Espresso! I love it!
tbhmatt Posted June 7 Posted June 7 Initial fan reaction on social media seems fairly positive. I hope that she doesn't fall victim to the same fate that Leigh-Anne had where people checked out after single #1.
tbhmatt Posted June 7 Posted June 7 I do wonder… was this the original second single? I am so sure they were heavily hinting at Rollercoaster being next up. If they did indeed change plans, I wonder why?

The Slayer Posted June 7 Posted June 7 I can't get over how great she looks, I also love the Vinyl cover. The official cover gives me Break Up Song cover vibes but i'm totally fine with that. Listened to the snippet again and it has grown on me, just need to wait for the full thing! 1
ThatGUY Posted June 7 Posted June 7 I think I was expecting something more uptempo but I'll wait until its released 1
Blue. Posted June 7 Posted June 7 I thought she was going to come out with a banger for single 2 but this sounds very low key. Not complaining though because I love the sound this time around.
kayliah Posted June 7 Posted June 7 this sounds horrible... its over before the album is already out. where is the 80's midnight sky single
tbhmatt Posted June 7 Posted June 7 I have a genuine question for this thread, as I've noticed there has been a decidedly lukewarm reception to Perrie's solo music so far (not just here but on other forums etc). What were your hopes/expectations from her songs & what is missing for you that would make the music connect more? Are people disappointed by the genres she's seemingly pursuing? Are people expecting or hoping for more belting and big vocal moments? I am genuinely curious - it would be interesting to know what kind of music you think would suit her more. At the moment I have no particularly strong feelings either way over her music but I'm interested in other people's opinions.
LovaticSwiftie Posted June 8 Posted June 8 This sounds underwhelming, probably won't do anything for her. Ugh, I had such high hopes after Forget About Us, which I still love.

I've committed to collecting at least two of everything but let's hope she doesn't have 10+ album variants because I will be poor 1

At the moment I have no particularly strong feelings either way over her music but I'm interested in other people's opinions. I'm personally not a fan of the genre hopping so early on. I think she would've done really well either going down a ballad route or a pop rock one (I'm thinking of her X-Factor audition when she sang You Oughta Know by Alanis). Based on what she's said so far and what we've heard, it's all feeling a bit...generic. Like how can you have been in the industry for 10+ years and your attempt at "finding your sound" is writers camp demos. I know she claims she enjoys writing but her first song was an Ed Sheeran pen, and her team bought Tears off another artist.
