she's having such a zeitgeist-y moment in pop culture right now, it's interesting to see others witness a rising pop star in real time and having all the buzz in this way/ with pop music enthusiasts, knowing how the trajectory of a career could be going anywhere is bewildering  :nicole:  it's exciting but also nerve wracking at the same time

it's good that chappell has expressed some conscientiousness to set boundaries for her own sake

It's probably obvious at this point but her second era will be her Like a Virgin/Teenage Dream/Fearless/etc. especially if it's full of GLB! and The Subway (this one sounds like a hit too)

And now that she's smashing she'll get a lot more budget for more lavish outfits that will amplify her superstar aura even further, kinda like how Gaga gained more budget for even more expensive, glamorous outfits and grander MVs after Just Dance/Poker Face smashed (starting with the Paparazzi MV and so on)

Iconic queen! I love her!

What do y'all think her first radical reinvention will be, sonically and visually?

I know the blond hair on Jimmy Fallon and the Statue of Liberty look could already be seen as a departure from her signature look, but I'm talking about a cohesive era look/sound.

I think that's what's most exciting about her future. When an artist isn't afraid of anything, they could go in a million different directions.

I could see her with long, straight, jet-black hair, and doing a whole bunch of Cher looks. idk what sonic direction that would accompany though.

Good Luck Babe (sound and single art visual) is the sense of direction I would like her to go in

This is literally the first time in years that I've felt hopeful about a shift in the music industry, not just about the type of music but about the kind of artist that people are seeking now. Chappell deserves all her flowers and I can't wait to see what she does next, just incredibleeee

Yep, I love seeing artists that worked hard for years finally getting their flowers. Especially Chappell because she was so close to giving up.

I'm not one to follow the latest trendy artist as I usually find them to be overhyped. But after listening to TRAFOAMP, I am pretty damn impressed. She has some bops and her voice is stunning!

Since the search function doesn't work and have no idea if there is a thread for the Read & Make Out I wanna say I like this song a lot. I listened to it months ago but didn't click but finally, it clicked for me this week. Since there is no sign of anything done peaking I don't see any new album and I'm fine with it but I would like to hear the studio version of the song or Subway song I hope one of them comes before this year end.

Her team cancelled a couple of European dates 10 days ago (because of the VMAs) then didn't announce it until today, only four days before the first show :noparty:

She needs a better team and clearly better security to keep crazies away from her and her family

Hot to go

And casual

Have any sleuths ever figured out who her ex-boyfriend/almost-fiancé is?

The one back in Missouri who dated her for 4.5 years, and bragged about dating her in bars in their home town.

Furthermore, has anyone figured out who the bisexual girl who caved to comp-het pressures, and inspired 'Good Luck, Babe' is?

I know these 2 questions go against all her requests to stay out of her personal life, and not invade the privacy of the "characters" in her stories…but when the songwriting is as rich as it is, it's natural to be curious about who these people are.

The last paragraph I wrote. I think it's natural to be curious when you hear piping hot tea about someone. It's like saying "show me a picture" when you've never seen the person a story is about.

Artists often have muses, and I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with looking at a picture of the muses that have inspired the soundtrack to a specific chapter of your life.

I think when people start contacting them, it makes crosses a boundary, but if someone from an an artist's high school says, "this is the Drew from 'Teardrops On My Guitar'", I don't think there's anything inherently wrong about it. Or "Luc Carl is the 'Heavy Metal Lover' who might not love her if she became super famous." There are countless other examples.

I know a lot of Chappell fans will disagree with me on that, and that's ok. I'm just saying that I think it's natural to be curious about what a person (who you've spent so much time hearing about) looks like.

Chappell, bestie, I know that you're taking your time to create your sophomore album, but could we get a sneak peak of the next single please? 😭
