itsmee Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Tate is pretty , awesome body , likable , hits to her name and amazing mind blowing dance skills she has everything to make it yet her overall impact is kind of underwelming Why did her latest hit didnt manage to catapult her into stardoom and pop royalty like it did to Britney Spears or Lady gaga She isn't even in Olivia Billie lane even Sabrina and Tyla feel like bigger celebs than her I'm baffled because as someone who dances and loves Britney and Pop music , Tate is all I could ask for to stan yet I can't get into her what is she lacking ?
selena_lavigne Posted May 9 Posted May 9 (edited) I would recommend a Q-Tip. Apart from a few lyrics that make no sense, her album is great. Edited May 9 by selena_lavigne 1
OrgVisual Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Personality & Controversy I have never heard anybody talking about her like a celebrity. There's literally nothing noteworthy to talk about her except for her music 3 2
TalkThatRihanna Posted May 9 Posted May 9 She just doesn't have the drive. And can't commit to doing full on dance music 2 1
TiaTamera Posted May 9 Posted May 9 She needs something to make her "relatable". Unfortunately, your talent doesn't speak for in this industry anymore. You status as a celebrity speaks first, and then your talent. Talent is for seasoned artists after all the glitz and the glam of their career is over and their talent is what people fall back on (Mariah, Christina, Usher, etc). I'm not saying any of this seasoned artists are washed or anything like that, but their talent is why people tune in, not their drama, who they're dating etc. Their fanbase is already solidified. 2
Melancholy Posted May 9 Posted May 9 honestly bad stage name, like please choose a different one "Tate" is unacceptable, "McRae" is also ridiculous and together it's possibly the worst pop girl name ever... Real name or not. 3 7
xxxlamb Posted May 9 Posted May 9 2 minutes ago, Psycho said: Pronunciation lessons this and her voice is annoying...pop girls need a somewhat sexy sounding voice
Slayn Posted May 9 Posted May 9 It's not that something is lacking— You either have "that thing" or you don't. Tate does not. 3
PoisonPill Posted May 9 Posted May 9 (edited) She checks all the boxes... for a middle-tier pop star in the year 2000. People expect something different now. Edited May 9 by PoisonPill 1
dawnettakins Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Talent, acclaim, personality, charisma, stage presence, entertainment value. Should I go on? 1 1 1
EnoughSaid Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Anytime I've seen her she's been an SNL impression of a 2000's pop act 5 1
Harrier Posted May 9 Posted May 9 She needs a clearer aesthetic, brand and sound, right now its very much giving 'run of the mill tiktok influencer does music' I actually think the talent and performing ability is there, but her output has been too faceless and generic 4 1
Motivation93 Posted May 9 Posted May 9 I think she's at a crossroads where she had this one sad girl album but now her pop forward choreo hits are more recognized so she's trying to launch herself forward without alienating her other fanbase. Personally (and selfishly) I think she should just go full pop girl and do it. Bring the pop bops. Do the choreo and don't half ass it because you wanna fully sing. Do an entire 2000s pop girl era and honestly I think she'd kill it. But the THINK LATER era seemed like she was sort of in transition. I truly do think her label who saw most success with her uptempos will make her record more greedys for the next album 4
Onyxmage Posted May 9 Posted May 9 After watching some of her live performances I would honestly prefer for her to lipsync instead of singing 2 words every 30 seconds. Beyonce lipsyncs everything and nobody cares. 1 1 1
Polgg48 Posted May 9 Posted May 9 her aesthetic gives youtuber/twitch/tiktoker energy than rising pop star, lack of visibility on medias and recognized viral moments also dont make her standout. sis always make bops and she will be fine
Nightingale Posted May 9 Posted May 9 She needs a hit song. Greedy was amazing and a smash but the follow up was underwhelming and people got bored. She still has potential with the next album. Everyone still thought Rihanna was a fluke after her second album and that she had no personality but she came back so hard with GGGB 1
Lady Claire Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Fully embrace dance/hip hop music and ditch boring ballads + become more known as a celebrity, generate some controversy, date somebody famous 1
