Care to explain why the Gaga fans were in Madonna's threads trying to diminish her and throw shade again? Care to explain? 1
Chris Posted May 9 Posted May 9 The Monsters running in here crying about Madonna fans and throwing out ageist remarks and of course conveniently forgetting how they were in Madonna's tour thread trying to throw shade because the concert was free. 1
Infernal Paradise Posted May 9 Posted May 9 That's a cute gesture from the HBO team to mark the TCB film release but no, at this stage that's way too restrictive a title for someone as multitalented and creatively limitless as her. Her career is extremely multidimensional and interdisciplinary in both its breadth and depth. And she makes it all look so effortless. There's a solid reason her immense success across different industries and areas of entertainment keeps several fanbases pressed to this day and will continue to for the next several decades to come. 1
DorothyVallens Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Well, there's a reason you're asking that question, OP. Gaga is the only pop girlie that Madonna saw as a threat (I mean, she dedicated a whole slot of a tour to her). And that was because what Gaga brought to pop culture was a defiance to status quo that spawned infinite discussions and debates on sexuality, gender, fashion, aesthetics, music videos, fame, etc. It's not because she is more famous than her. It's not because she sells as much as her (that could be Taylor's case). It's not because she is more talented than her (which vocally she is, btw). It's because the whole pop landscape was transformed when she hit it. Can you imagine the effects of having her gender scrutinized and discussed globally? or what was the fashion or the way artists presented their music via music videos and performances before she first appeared? Madonna saw that, as we all did, and she retaliated and attacked her, instead of recognising that Gaga was a continuation of her insurgency against the inert and safe pop scene that is forever present and persisting. Gaga is a force to be reckoned with, but she just couldn't sacrifice her well being and sanity to be a saviour and a rebel. Madonna was stronger than her in that sense, and that's why she's Madonna. But Gaga absolutely triggered her, and she saw the same passion and drive to rule the world in her eyes. That's all. 1

No, I don't care to explain anything, might as well keep that same energy for the Hive that said Beyoncé could easily bring 4M people in if you want to make this a more comprehensive stan war x 3
laqqinq Posted May 9 Posted May 9 I have never listened to a single Gaga album in full in my life nor do I follow/keep a tab on her but there is no denying that she's a gamechanger and her work has added significant value to the music/pop culture and holds impact (then be it a past or new album, movie, tour, etc.) The Queen of Pop title can be very subjective, sometimes, very honestly. But I'll go with Madonna (even though I've never listened to any of her albums in full nor do I follow her but I have read/noticed her career trajectory, cultural impact, legacy). (No hate to Gaga in any way). By "now", I think you mean the current time; well that is difficult to decide. What took so long for the Chromatica concert film though, btw? Its been like almost 2 years to the tour. Was it because she was busy with Joker 2 and House of Gucci?
