little legend Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Can we appreciate more , what Gaga managed to achieve with just her debut album? With just an album she managed to become an A list pop star and people were already calling her the new Queen of Pop. In just a year she became a legend and changed the pop music landscape. How crazy is this!!? How is it even possible to be in your debut era and serve this: 1 5 1
Popular Post Pheromosa Posted May 1 Popular Post Posted May 1 Not sure but to imagine in 2024 she would be a big pharma shill, I couldn't have foreseen it 45 2
CoolNebraskaGuy Posted May 1 Posted May 1 She was the face of the 2008-09 cultural reset. Lightning in a bottle. Hopefully she brings some of that je ne sai quois to her next era. 1
ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted May 1 ATRL Moderator Posted May 1 Because she was extremely fresh. That music that was different for her time + her campy looks + talent + her massive amount of promo, all contributed to that 2 1
PaloSanto Posted May 1 Posted May 1 She was a breath of fresh air. The girls from the previous generation were either on hiatus or pregnant or going through something personal. Timbaland sound had run its course. The world was on a huge recession and people wanted fun bops. She had great hooks, a signature look. Unpredictable antics. It was truly a lightning in a bottle moment. I'll never forget downloading The Fame and giving it to all my friends in highschool cause they HAD to listen to it. What a moment in pop culture 7 1
SlimyGhoul Posted May 1 Posted May 1 I wish that she would carry this energy into now. She's grown stale and Chromatica aged like milk. These 4-year album gaps are not helping. She used to be so forward-thinking, she literally changed the landscape of what was on the radio. It's sad. 2 3

EdgeofTeeth Posted May 1 Posted May 1 She was hungry, she was talented, and she had the vision. Gaga is a genius when she doesn't hold back, and we saw it here. 3
AvadaKedavra Posted May 1 Posted May 1 (edited) I've been following Gaga since Miss Universe in 2008, and truth be told, she was mesmerizing. She hadn't even released her debut album yet, and already she felt like a Superstar. Thats the reason why with only 1 performance i turned stan inmediately. Too talented to be ignored Many artists debut and that's it. She broke all the limits and barriers and the conventional. She was on another level. Her musical project seriously felt like it was from another planet. A visionary. I still remember how powerful and magnificent she felt. The most impactful debut since Michael Jackson-Madonna Sometimes I wonder, if Gaga had had more time to execute her musical vision and had rested and been in a better mental state and without the world's hatred-physical issues, how much would she have advanced? I'm sure that today she would be treated as Madonna's successor and not Taylor. So. never downplay Gaga like yll do all the time today. Remember the potential and power this woman has. One of the most exceptionally talented artists from this planet Edited May 1 by AvadaKedavra 6 1

Cruel Summer Posted May 1 Posted May 1 The music was exceptionally good, with The Fame and The Fame Monster still being highly regarded to this day; she had natural talent and a eye for theatrical performances that captivated audiences; the character she played as Lady Gaga was engaging and dynamic and mysterious; and she had the drive and ambition necessary to dominate the music world in that way. She had everything necessary to ignite her own spark and burn through pop culture at a rapid pace. My favorite part, personally, is that she wanted it and that you could tell she wanted it. She wanted to be the biggest artist in the world and she took that title by force for some time. She was such a fascinating manifestation of the zeitgeist - all of pop culture orbited around her for a moment. 5 1

Virgos Groove Posted May 1 Posted May 1 She just had that X-factor. The songs, the videos, the performances, the ambition... an actual cultural reset.
liquiddiamonds Posted May 1 Posted May 1 It's been appreciated enough as the classic era it is. I don't understand why this forum want us to always go down memory lane as if it's present time with the most obvious and revered things 3
little legend Posted May 1 Author Posted May 1 Also the pressed rats already here trying to shade Gaga's success This is just an appreciation thread about what Gaga achieved with her debut album. Nothing else. Also, Gaga is doing more than great with starring in one of the most anticipated movies of the year.
alfonso12 Posted May 1 Posted May 1 She released smash after smash, like, I don't think gen z realizes how big those songs were. Plus, she had amazing videos and performances that kept people talking about her, it was impossible to escape from. 1
