Hate to rain on your parade but: This is not globally based, where Britney outshines as the highest-selling female artist of the 00s This list is of best-performing female artists on the Billboard Charts, not on other metrics necessarily. Britney was mainly disadvantaged because she didn't sell singles separately till the mid-2000s and by then, 80% of the decade was done.
QueenBeyoncé Posted April 30 Posted April 30 (edited) Beyoncé has and will always be that girl & 15 years later none of her female peers are near her. aw Britney stan's mad at Bey when your fave was behind Alicia focus on that first, stinks Edited April 30 by QueenBeyoncé 2

Exactly! Not only that those songs were huge in airplay, they were also smashing the ringtone and the digital download sales as well. Besides, even Beyonce's flop like Dangerously In Love II & Upgrade U charted for 15+ weeks. 1
mrstephen91 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Beyoncé wasn't even big till like 2006. She missed out. Even xtina was more popular than her. Destiny child doesn't count. Her name did not sale. 1

(check the data from 2000-09, no fraudmasters), she had more #1, #5 or #10 globally and made more money on tour (Xtina had the biggest female tour in 2007) 1
Jay07 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Britney wasn't strong on singles. I don't know if that's because there was a radio ban (fact), because radio was resistant to teen pop or because her label focused on selling albums but it is what it is. In any case, it's been 20 years, let it go.

That's double the number of weeks Britney spent on the Hot 100 throughout her whole career. Not saying that Britney's career isn't impressive but going by Billboard stats it's not surprising at all Beyoncé being the biggest female artist of the 2000s. Britney still has lots of achievements, but lying like this about Bey's success is ridiculous.

Taylor herself outdid that era in the 2020s and 1989 was not bigger than teenage dream nor did it bring anything new to the table like the surprise visual album that literally changed the industry that said both Taylor and beyonces domination overlapped two decades (00s and 10s for bey and 10s and 20s for tay) 1
LegaMyth Posted May 3 Posted May 3 (edited) You b*****s in here crying about ACTUAL NUMBERS? When Beyonce released her debut album, it was pretty much over for Britney. Also, album sales were at a peak between 1997-2000. Once the illegal download era kicked it, it was pretty much a wrap for most artists. I don't wanna read anything about no damn "radio ban." Britney earned the three biggest radio hits of her career with Femme Fatale and Bey's 4 album, which was her "flop" era sold DOUBLE the amount that FF sold. Edited May 3 by LegaMyth 1
VerdantHue Posted May 3 Posted May 3 The way Beyoncé basically transcended each decade, starting in the 90s - NO ONE can do it like her. 2

If you're going to avoid facts you can at least be informed about them. I agree with your comment about piracy though and how beyonce came out swinging with DiL
