Madonna dominated the 80s more than the other 3 dominated their decade

Surprises? OF COURSE NOT. In US, these were the biggest female artists of those decades.

And who were the biggest female artists in the 60s and 70s. Pop music didn't begin in 1980

Wasnt 2000s britney??? I saw it in instagram.

Britney

Oops!... I Did It Again - Diamond

Britney - 4X Platinum

In The Zone - 3X Platinum

Blackout - 2X Platinum

Circus - 3X Platinum

Top 10 Hits - (6)

Bey

Dangerously In Love - 6X Platinum

B'Day - 5X Platinum

I Am... Sasha Fierce - 6X Platinum

Top 10 Hits - (12)

By the end of the decade, Britney's 5 albums had sold at least 17,000,000 units and Bey's had sold at least 12,000,000 units. So Bey was not far from Britney's sales for the decade considering she had 2 less albums. Plus, she had double the radio hits.

I doubt Mariah Carey or Madonna were expected to be crowned as Artist of 2020s Decade. :rip:

Mariah still has a shot for her 3rd song of the decade in the US.

Currently: 29 weeks charting for AIW:

#1: 12x

T10: 11x (23)

T20: 3x (26)

AIW will add another 6 weeks in the top 10 in 2024. In the end the song will come for 55-60 weeks in the top 10 for the 2020s decade.

Let's hope, Mariah can get that 3rd song of the decade.

If TF was released in 10's she would have lead the 10's. Same for Britney if she had released her debut a year or 2 later.

2010s should be Adele

The way Taylor Swift is basically guaranteed to repeat this decade, if not even become the Artist Of The Decade outright… only the biggest female artist in US history. :clap3:

I fixed it for you.

All 4 legends :clap3:

I wonder how much of a lead Taylor has in the current decade :gaycat6: i feel like her catalogue is just too insane, almost every album charting top 50 every single week while most others who would be in contention for artist of the decade have maybe 1 or 2 albums charting

AOD is about Hot 100 performances.

Legendary behaviour of Mariah Carey. And the fact she had the Song of The Decade in both those decades is unmatched.

Madonna was the artist of the decade in the 80s by billboard. Not Michael. Mtv also awarded her the decade artist

With actual points, How Do I Live was #1 in the 90s.

No, it isn't. It's about overall performance. In the 2000s, Usher was the Hot 100 artist of the decade, but Eminem was given the overall title.

Madonna only had 7 years for the decade as well. But more albums.

I think Beyonce was bigger with DC.

Taylor was bigger than Adele in US. No surprise there.

1989+Rep+Lover+Speak now>21+25 in US.

Beyonce is #4 on the decade-end artist chart, Britney is at #8 and DC is at #9. Beyonce and DC's stats are separate

That includes post-90s data in their recent series of all decades with a different formula and streaming stats. One Sweet Day was #1 on their 90s end-of-decade chart.
