Britney was the best selling female artist in terms of albums sales, maybe you confused it with that.

 

OT: Not surprising really but they should've also posted the 70s and the 60s (both decades would've been Barbra though )

Britney had album sales. But Beyoncé had decent albums and strong singles. So she's more well rounded.

The fact that not only was Beyoncé #1 for female artists, DC were also in the top-10 (overall list) for the 2000s.   Bey's naughties domination is slept on sometimes.
