suburbannature Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Mariah finally nominated. The way she’s influenced music deserves an instant induction. 3

She had a crazy amount of influence on hip-hop & R&B music, not only with her own musical career but also as a writer/producer for other very relevant acts, most notably for Aaliyah. 8
Achilles. Posted February 10 Posted February 10 No country artist this year after Dolly and Willie. I assume The Chicks will make the list sooner or later, but idk if there will be any others until Taylor.

Songwriters Hall of Fame, NRJ Icon, Grio Lifetime Achievement, Grammy Global Icon all in the last couple of years. Sad that it took this long, but I’m glad it’s happening while she’s still alive to enjoy it. 7

slw84 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 In order: 1. Mariah Carey 2. Ozzy Osbourne 3. Sade 4. Dave Matthews Band 5. Mary J blige 5. Foreigner 6. A tribe called quest 7. Lenny Kravitz 8. Cher (she doesn't want it but yes ma'am) I'm not seeing it for the rest of the nominees.
TheBlackBarbie Posted February 10 Posted February 10 This is actually a good class I voted 2xx once for Sade, MC, MJB, Eric B & Rikim, A Tribe Called Quest & Lenny Kravitz. And again for just MC & MJB.
madollaqueen Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Since when Mariah Mary and Cher have been rock and roll??? Quite laughable to see all these r and b singers in there when it's not even rock. 5
