This kind of feels like her Radical Optimism era

Stans deluding themselves into thinking it will catch on and that the haters will love this when the acclaim rolls in

...and it never happens

Ma'am the album has been "out" for an hour

People making Midnights comparisons when, if anything, there are more similarities to the 1989 vault, but even THEN it's clearly very distinct :gaycat6:

idk i hate this superiority complex of some fans that taylor swift is objectively good, and thus anyone who critiques her has no music taste or cannot review music. like idk

Sure, but there is no denying that there is a large subset of people who immediately pan every new release and complain about Jack Antonoff, only to switch when the first week numbers come out. It's been the same song and dance since Lover (maybe minus Folklore, since that's when she first brought Aaron into the mix).

And not surprisingly enough, none of these people were part of the original thread.

Also Jack and Aaron are definitely her musical soulmates and a lot of you really got to stop lying to yourselves about Jack and Her not being great together

Anyway I think it's gorgeous and understated, already a contender for the top 3 for me. A culmination of her melodic sensibilities and her matured songwriting :clap3:

I Can Do It With a Broken Heart is amazing. It's mastermind / suburban legends but better.

Title Track - lyrics are a bit "high school AP Lit student" core but I'm a fan otherwise.

The saddest part is when you can tell Aaron wrote a song with her and when she wrote with Jack

i'm on my third listen through and it's just if taylor was doing her take on dance fever/tunnel... like once you get past the initial batch of midnights synth-y stuff there's so much experimentation, live instrumentation/band vibes, stream of consciousness, indie alt girl on a small label feels.

I'm out of reactions but I'm completely living for you enjoying this so much
