wish Posted April 6 Posted April 6 The new songs just didn't click for me, and I gave them multiple listens. There's nothing hitworthy on this project that could replace Agora Hills.

I mean it's something 'new' to keep the album in people's minds. Agora Hills is still doing very well so even if none of the deluxe tracks take off she still managed to get two hits out of the album. Rotunda Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Doja keeps telling the GP she's a Tyler The Creator type of artist, and the GP keeps telling her she's a pop star.

TTH can add exposure but at the end of the day it truly comes down to the fanbase strength + hype and interest + gp appeal. TTH #1s all do quite different numbers so clearly it isn't a guarantee for a smash. That's honestly always been the case. There's songs on TTH that never do anything, but it's used as a drag towards people like Dua. 5 hours ago, chaneloberlin said: Doja Cat has all three of these things, in spades too. But there is just no real organic pull for her. Even being the star that she is. It just is what it is. Coachella will do her well though I don't think that's the case. It just has to be the right songs I personally enjoy the EP but there's no PTTR or Agora Hills on it for the GP to be in love with. It's very Purrr!/Amala which are sounds the fanbase she collected with Hot Pink/Planet Her don't really know or **** with. 2
masochizm Posted April 6 Posted April 6 (edited) the over dramatics in here when this is literally the deluxe of an album that was already poorly received by the public… lets see what the DC5 lead says before throwing the terms tanked and flopped around Edited April 6 by masochizm 2 1
naval23 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Agora Hills and Paint the Town Red smashed hard and GP still stanning those

Facelessboy Posted April 6 Posted April 6 I swear people love to jump on bandwagon once someone underperforms. She will be fine since when does deluxe are expected to smash? I do wish this was a whole new EP because having the name Scarlet, attached to this might turn people away where if it was a whole new project more people might have checked it out & and this really should have came out at the beginning of our tour such a odd decision to release it so late. I would love for Doja to go a more rock rap approach. Her voice is so versatile & the song shots it's a straight bop and shows that she could do rock rap she doesn't have to just stay to one. Regardless, she's one of those artists have a long career she's not going anywhere so talented them so proud proud of her Scarlet was a massive risk and it ultimately paid off with two smash hits would've been 3 if Go Off was released. 3
Karla Cabello Posted April 6 Posted April 6 idk but scarlet is her best album and the new songs are great. she is in her arts not the charts era and even then she is still scoring hits....

It's not like the era is n/a
Karla Cabello Posted April 6 Posted April 6 like yall want to see doja fail so hard but her talent will always carry her career 2
Funnyfatty Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Scarlet had 2 hits but she was so messy that we all left her. I listened to Scarlet just because of the PH eras hype but even then i didn't feel comfortable listening to her. Now i'm totally free from her and don't care about whatever she does. So sad though. During covid she was the only artist that felt exciting to me. PH was such a nice release too after Streets became such a huge viral hit. Now i can't tolerate her. 1 1
AMIT Posted April 6 Posted April 6 haven't heard the new sings oops but we need another PTTR that song was a BANGER 2

Literally listened to it once and never touched again type of song. The problem is not her antics, it is the production of the songs being too unimpartful that you feel nothing after listening. Like she could've done more with the horror core sound for this ep. Instead we get Alt R&B with mid production and no bangers. Where is the abrasive production, where are the banging beats. This ep had so much potential, like where is the witch house Doja? Give us actual occult music genres to go with your horror era. Edited April 6 by Phaunzie 5
motherpills Posted April 6 Posted April 6 she ruined her goodwill by being aligning herself with racists and being a co0n when a chunk of her core fanbase is black people. 4
