Why are Extended + Instrumental + Acapella's streams not combined with the original song's streams? Is it normal?

It's most Smilers who STILL have a problem with her because Dua put Prisoner on the Moonlight edition, THREE ******* years later :deadbanana2:

three  ******* years and the MASSIVE phenomenon of flowers later

one would think they have enough reasons to celebrate with their current era but it seems like they must be bored or still pressed :biblionny:

i've been thinking about this too lately….damn not even one late night tv performance this entire cycle…houdini not even getting one performance is crazy to me (not including grammys) im sure she will go full throttle the second the album drops and any and everywhere to make up for the lack of visibility and performances (jimmy fallon, snl, etc….) or at least im hoping :dancehall:

tbh they better have booked some slots already, don't most shows go on a summer break? snl only runs till may 18th so there's only 5 more slots this season (and then it's on break until october), 3 of those slots are after the album release, so the 4th, 11th or 18th would be great as they'd be right after the album drops.

yeah i noticed that too yesterday …it would truly be pitiful and negligent if they didn't have a slot booked already

I don't know why, I haven't enjoyed her last three songs

I used to love her older music. I hope there are bops on the album

A lot of people are feeling this way, maybe when the album comes out the songs will click with you in the context of the album!

There's absolutely no indication this will happen and there hasn't been all era

Some of you are so hellbent on making any and all criticism about this era seem invalid and it's so annoying to read. I get that it's a reaction to the posters in here that clearly just hate Dua, but like

Dua is having a poorer commercial performance than during FN and even New Rules and One Kiss were bigger hits than anything from this era (and yes commercial performance is a valid thing to discuss and analyze on a pop forum, you don't have to "just enjoy the music" it away), on top of that she's also just giving us less content, less performances, less magazine shoots and just… less, which may or may not play into the success of the era but as a stan is also just making it less fun to follow along

Houdini was released almost 6 months ago and the era's noticeable moments can be counted on one hand. The album is coming out in less than 3 weeks and as far as we know there's absolutely nothing on the agenda to promote that fact :toofunny3:

The global numbers are amazing, +3M outside the US. :duck:

Expresso by sabrina is way above her on the US spotify, she has that it girl factor and people in the US are more interested in her than dua

I think if you're gonna use the US numbers to drag her, your argument should keep talking about the same thing. :duck:

My only complaint is that the production kinda gives you all it's got with the first verse and chorus, there's no new elements introduced with the next choruses (prominent ones at least) or even adlibs :chick3: like I couldn't tell the choruses apart from each other

Yes, I notice the same thing. I think some parts of the Extended needed to make the final cut, but the instrumental of the song is still very strong. :duck:

You're right about commercial success being a fair subject , but right now the anglo GP is obsessed with Taylor Swift, rap/r&b, country and folky singer-songwriters. The only pop artist that holds their monopoly of attention is Taylor Swift. Couple of exceptions here and there: Ariana with We Can't be Friends and Tate with Greedy, but Dua is in the same group as Olivia in that they doubled down on genres that feel natural to them with a clear sonic progression, but the GP (from different countries) ain't interested or putting effort to connect to it (alternative rock and 2000s dance-pop, respectively). People are using Sabrina to drag Dua (just like they did with Tate), but she's riding that Swifitie hype of the eras tour (something similar will happen to Phoebe Bridgers when she drops)

Dua is still very successful all things counted and she's one of the few doing rounds with this genre in 2024. Sometimes people act like she got Ava Max'd, just like people like to pretend GUTS is a huge bomb. They just need to keep their name out there until a more favorable timeline comes through for their music, because right now it's only their respective fanbases supporting and YES the support we are seeing this era for Houdini, Training Season and Illusion are people that know and enjoy Dua

Does anyone else think she may have been a little influenced by Miley Cyrus? She mentions rose colored glasses and "rose colored lens" is a song on Miley's last album and she also recreates the album cover in this music video lol

No, I don't think so. I feel like Dua is out of touch with the internet sometimes. It would explain why she doesn't really do well on TikTok when she posts. (Don't come for me).

I wouldn't be surprised if people on her team kinda present her or 'come up' with visuals/ideas to get people talking. Prime example would be the Miley thing. After all, all press is good press.

Extended is definitely the better version. :gaycat1:

Illusion is a good summer song. It's kinda 2016 coded but in a good way. I don't really listen to dua but let me give a stream to her upcoming album :gayoncecat3:

Yeah, I could see that.  But Dua was aware of the whole meme of her dancing like she's shaking crumbs off her lap while eating in the car fiasco and took ownership of that dance/meme and that was such a slay.
