T.O.A.D.S. Posted April 3 Posted April 3 I love the way Madonna utilised seamless transitions for all the tracks on the album and that Confessions has zero filler. It's also a lot better lyrically. Renaissance is an amazing project though, with incredible highs. 3

Space Cowboy Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Confession's first half is very strong and the highs are higher than anything in Renaissance, but its second half is kinda weak. While Renaissance is great from start to finish, so imo it's overall a better album. 4 1
javieraloud Posted April 3 Posted April 3 I love both, but COADF is a timeless classic and Madonna's best album & tour. 2
Sheep Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Coadf has way better production, which matters a lot on a dance album 1 1

Strawberry Bubble Posted April 3 Posted April 3 i can't believe renaissance is winning in two metrics
naval23 Posted April 3 Posted April 3 I remember my Grade 7 English teacher having a copy of this album on his desk and telling another teacher how good the album was Confessions is that gurl 1
Richie.Valdez Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Not the Beyonce tour getting more votes than THE Confessions tour. 5

AxelFox Posted April 3 Posted April 3 I truly love both of these! If I have to chose, it'd go something like this: Album - Renaissance. It's a lot more adventurous is sound, style and production choices and song structures. And I find that more thrilling while listening to the body of work in full. And while I do live for the seamless transitions on COADF, I think some of the Renaissance ones (not all) feel more impactful. (ITG -> Cozy, POTS -> VG) Singles - COADF. Madonna made the most of the era with its flawless singles choices. The videos are so amazing as well. Sorry remains one of my favorite singles of hers. Perhaps if Bey did a proper era we could've had a discussion here but yeah COADF wins by a landslide. Tour - this was probably the hardest to pick but I would still go with Renaissance eventually. Production wise I think COADF edges it out by a little and that was the thing I put a lot of weight on but I think Beyoncé's superior performing skills make up for it to give it an advantage for it. 2
Brikenbur Posted April 3 Posted April 3 (edited) It depends… Confessions is very more upbeat and fun and euro-fancy midtown NY to me, whereas RENAISSANCE is basically the same, but, more downtown underground a lot more grittier and sweaty Either way, they LOVE one another and make classic records! Wonders if the OP tried to throw shade here battling between two 10/10 albums from ICONIC female artists! Edited April 3 by Brikenbur 1
campelo Posted April 3 Posted April 3 I'm a Madonna stan but Renaissance it's the way to go! It's an album that works from start to finish. Confessions is not even on my top 5 of M's discography! Push, How High are fillers and those two bad bonus tracks Superpop and Fighting Spirit are not it 1 1
bjorn Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Hung Up is better than ANYTHING Beyoncé has ever released let's not kid ourselves. 6 1 3
Jjang Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Ren is the slightly better album. Confessions has the better singles. Confessions tour is better than Ren tour.
Karla Cabello Posted April 3 Posted April 3 rena is the better album but confessions has the better singles
