justin. Posted March 31 Posted March 31 As a vinyl record collector, I have to say it makes me sad. I'm hoping we get a vinyl with the correct tracklist and correct name on the spine.
BraveNewSeth Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I just want to know if the version of the album being released by retailers on April 12th is the completed album with the horse cover. If not Beyoncé definitely has some explaining to do.

Batsy Armada Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Realistically speaking, I won't even be listening to the physical CD anyway. I pre-ordered it just to have, along with the t-shirt that comes with the box set—which is what I ultimately wanted. It was a blind order, with no announced tracklist at the time, but it was promoted as including an additional song. I wonder what's considered to be the additional song; that's what I want to see a breakdown of, in relation to the overall tracklist. I thought it was odd that the t-shirts, by themselves, cost $60, whereas you get a t-shirt and the CD for just $40. Before news of this broke, as I still have yet to receive my pre-order, I thought the pricing was thrown off and was wondering why that was. You'd think the CD and t-shirt combo would be more expensive. There's probably no actual correlation with the pricing, and the content therein, but I've never been one to believe in coincidences. It probably makes up for the lack of a complete album, in comparison to what's on streaming. That's my theory anyway.
Iaintsorry Posted April 1 Posted April 1 She should have just released the 4 additional tracks as digital exclusives to avoid these kinda complaints, but I don't think they thought it would be as big of a deal since hive usually flocks to buy anything and everything she releases anyway.

They had all these vinyls pressed with an incomplete album that they now need to get rid off. I mean if I were her I probably would've just eaten the cost and recycled them or disposed off them. The other issue is that if she didn't put anything up for pre order then the first week would've been impacted even more. She had all these laying around so they took that risk knowing the backlash it would ensue. Maybe they should've gone the standard/deluxe route. Have the standard be the color variants with the alt cover/ title and the deluxe be a complete set w/standard cover, booklet and poster but in a standard black vinyl and have that up for pre-order for release at later date. But withholding this info is wrong imo. Sure you could argue these pressings could be rare but I think we just wanted the full album on vinyl rather than a possible rare vinyl later down the road. Besides the money, That would've been so wasteful 4 hours ago, Worm said: I find the QR tracklist thing baffling. Even if the album tracklist wasn't finalised, the songs that were about to be physically printed onto the vinyls obviously were... Why bother linking to a (future) digital tracklist that doesn't reflect the contents of the vinyl, instead of just including the tracklist for what's actually being printed? Did they think no one would bother playing the vinyls and notice the missing tracks? Did they think they could get away with it? That her fanbase is really that dumb? Like it just boggles my mind that someone on her team sat down and must have thought "Oh no, if we print the tracklist on the vinyl then the fans will know this isn't the finalised version of the album. Quick, let's put it behind a QR code so no one can tell," as if the actual music being missing/different is just a secondary concern that was definitely an overlooked mistake on their part lol. But what do you expect when Parkwood is basically a mismanaged indie label

PrettyHurts Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I spent $120 on three products and there's no proper booklet, full tracks or tracklist/credits, or actual bonus track. I can't believe she'd sell this and not say anything :(
Galah Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Everyone complaining when these will most likely end up becoming rare "first press" records worth 10x their value in the near future nn. I think it's kind of neat.
mrpartyrocker Posted April 1 Posted April 1 (edited) The only reason I buy CDs these days is because of tours and presale access, and I go for CDs cos they're cheaper, but I would definitely not spend £40 for something I'm not going to use more than a few times because let's be honest, you'll end up listening to these albums more on spotify/apple music. mrpartyrocker Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Wait I'm confused.. the cds details show "additional song”… is that not true? Cos I'll be fuming…

Lol Same reason people are buying them now when you have everything available on streaming? Lol Vinyls are highly collectable, and typically defective or limited early release variants of collectable media garner insane resale prices. Certain editions of The Little Mermaid VHS tape are valued at over $30k due to the recalled cover art. If something exists, there's always someone out there who's willing to buy it.
ratedreid Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I also noticed the stylization of the track list on her official website is different than on streaming services. For example, "RIVERDANCE" is listed on her website while "RIIVERDANCE" is listed on streaming platforms.
Kool_Aid_King Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Very odd from Perfectionist Bey. But I bought it for aesthetics and cause I'm a huge fan. I'm still bummed the CD is missing Spaghettii & Ya Ya, those are two of my fave songs.
The7thStranger Posted April 1 Posted April 1 You can really see the generational divide in this thread. There are people, myself included, who listen to physicals more than streaming.

Hopefully those will have all the tracks. Also I hope the horse cover will be available at some point. You can tell the plans have changed last minute. because album was initially called "Beyince" with the cover of current physical releases thats why sash says "Act.II Beyince" , then she added more tracks, change the name and cover but since all these physicals were already produced they kept it as it is not to loose any money. They could easily correct it with printed slip-case with the horse cover and produce one additional vinyl with those 5 missing songs to prevent all this drama. 1
