Sabrina is just riding the whole retro disco pop wave that Dua and Doja kind of popularized back in 2019. Dua absolutely NEEDED / NEEDS to drop that sound because she really milked it. Even if Dua, lets say, released Espresso herself as her lead single...I actually think it would have done her more bad than good. She totally needed a fresh new sound which is why when we heard Psuchedelic pop we all orgasmed but then we were served what we were served which is middle of the road pop for the most part (aside from a few gems). So she made the right choice to move away from that type of sound but she did it wrong imo. I hope DL4 is a course correction and showcases a proper evolution away from the disco pop all while being innovative and fresh. Edited June 3 by IBeMe

Dua would not release something cheap like "Espresso" as a lead maybe as a droplet like "Cherry Pie" but I'm glad she learned when that boring cheap song flopped 1
ChrisTheLoner Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Jokes aside though I am snatched at things suddenly turning around as soon as May ended Maybe the sabotage theories had a point oop 1

Houdini in the other hand... that one feels bigger than it actually is.

NostalgiawithDua Posted June 3 Posted June 3 (edited) Kinda similar trajectory to Dua's career. Debut and Sophomore albums smashing, long gap between 2nd and 3rd album, lead from 3rd album being critically acclaimed but not a gp hit and album being critically panned. Hope the outcome of their careers isn't same… Edited June 3 by NostalgiawithDua
