Naikuun Posted May 22 Posted May 22 (edited) 20 hours ago, Cain said: EXACTLYYYYY you said everything that needed to be said The way the era went from kaleidoscopic teasing, Tame Impala sounding, dark imagery using, saying it's "personal and alternative" and throwing the word psychedelic around in every single interview set her up REAL bad for the release of the actual album she had already handed in like who tf told her to tease the lighthearted beach bops with a vacanza themed album shoot (that she had also already shot by that time) with a grunge aesthetic and description? I tried to make sense of it myself with a 'they're going from a winter to summer aesthetic' but **** that, they had no clue what they were doing But you're right, this is such a colossal bomb that even the bombing is going unnoticed. She can totally fix this all with a banger next album, the thing is that we don't even know if she still can deliver such an era with her current management Well controversial thought here i feel like the teasing and the aesthetic of Dua in the last year is very cohesive with everything you all said. And google "Kaleidoscope" lol, its literally what the album is about. But the thing that puts me off about the album is that i know Parker and Danny do full electronic / psychedelic songs and this is like idk i can't see them in the studio doing this songs except for Houdini / Happy For You. And we needed more bangers, the album is so short, just imagine another banger between FF / AFL / M / HFY. Something more psychedelic oriented right there would have been excelent. Anyways i love the album and is all i hear since it's out. And after almost three weeks my ranking is: 1. Training Season 1. Illusion 1. Falling Forever 1. Houdini 2. End of An Era 2. French Exit 3. Anything for Love 3. Maria 3. These Walls 4. Whatcha Doing 4. Happy For You I can't rank it any other way, i love RO. Edited May 22 by Naikuun 2

Relampago. Posted May 22 Posted May 22 This is still my favorite album of the year despite all the mess. It just doesn't really age for me, it's like the canned food of pop 3

Super excited to hear those, and I hope she releases a RO-version with more psychedelic elements like Club FN.

RadioactiveLights Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Quote And I'm not interested in a love that gives up so easily I want a love that's set on keeping me When it hurts, we don't even think to cut it off And I'm not interested in a heart that doesn't beat for me I want a mind that meets me equally When it's hard, it won't ever feel like it's too much Remember when we used to do anything for love? Not Dua writing about us melting down over her future floppage on "Anything for Love." She truly read us for filth... queen of precognition

Maria is an european song of the summer anthem. Girl make a storyline summerish video for it, I beg you, and push it down the GP throat and forget that Illusion thing Edited May 23 by tjspy 1
