Relampago. Posted May 16 Posted May 16 She's still pretty much Warner's current biggest artist. I don't think they're that pressed about the album's performance considering the rest of their roster. I do think they'll have talks about how to avoid a decline next era, but I don't think they're in crisis mode like the cat is implying That being said, I do think they'll just let this era go. Maybe push one more single like These Walls and then be done. They'll probably have Dua hide away for a year or two, then come back swinging next time. It's been said before, but I do think the awkwardness of Dance the Night smashing really set this era off on the wrong foot timing wise. 2
k4rmabutterfly Posted May 16 Posted May 16 The way this era is a reverse Future Nostalgia experience. Flop singles Flop album tracks Panned album Huge decline in quality Horrible and messy visuals We truly had it ALL with FN and now we have nothing Well, I guess her perfomances are still slaying and better than ever, actually. Her and her team will have a lot of work to do if they want her next album to be successful, everything they planned for this era went completely wrong. I just know Warner is fuming… 1 1

TS yes I agree Houdini is fine & Illusion video is a slay! People need to stop comparing this era to FN I respect your opinions, but try to see this era outside of your stan bubble. It could've been much better, both comercial success wise and especially the quality of the album. Houdini was a solid start, it's an amazing song and it became a hit in Europe, but everything that happened after this song was just… not it. And the mid album was final strike for this era, the way she sold it was also completely wrong and turned a lot of people off. It was just mistake after mistake, and she just needs to do better from now on, or she's going to keep declining more and more.
Cain Posted May 16 Posted May 16 The way her album streams are gonna be 12 billion 12 billion 1 billion 12

Burqa Posted May 16 Posted May 16 i'd say I don't want the era to end because I want videos for other songs but then I thought that if they're anything like TS i don't want them anymore i still hope we get a deluxe tho

DUA LIPA Posted May 16 Posted May 16 the quality of RO >>>>> idc if u say it's a flop but the quality of the music did not decline 4 1
CottageHore Posted May 16 Posted May 16 I genuinely don't get the "decline in quality" comments. Am I just delusional? A lack of sonic evolution doesn't equate to a drop in quality. Every song is a fully fleshed out bop and every song is memorable bar a couple songs. The album just lacks a strong and cohesive concept like FN did. I'll never get how these labels put so much time and money into an album and then just abandon it if there's not an immediate smash. Pushing These Walls very hard and eating up the rest of the budget to see if it sticks would be wise. If it doesn't do anything after two months, lock Dua in a villa in Costa Rica for two years and plan a huge comeback for 2026 1

LanaXtinaFan Posted May 16 Posted May 16 I'm already over this album after lovvvvving it on release week and I didn't even play it that much. Terrible replay value.

The writing camps should already be working, she can tour both albums at the same time. I do agree These Walls deserves a little moment though. It gives me Gwen Stefani "Cool". I don't think there's much fuel left in this era to push it "very hard" but a video and some radio adds wouldn't hurt As for the label abandoning it, they've already released 3 fully promoted singles. It's just that the era was oddly timed and went on for 7 months without an album. 2
Troll Idle Posted May 16 Posted May 16 The perfect summer album. Some of y'all have no taste. It's actially my favorite Dua album so far 2

Ain't no way we're getting a whole new album in less than 8 months 😭 I mean, I wish and hope your wishful thinking comes true but girl waits 3-4 years between albums and I feel like giving the GP a break so Dua can come back a little rebranded would be beneficial. I'm not one of the "I need Dua to divulge more personal issues in her music!" girls but it's clear the GP isn't clicking with her more care-free and aloof music anymore. She should rethink her songwriting process and come back with an iconic new look or concept like she did with FN and the blonde peek-a-boo hair and really, strong cohesive concept. I'm just waiting for Dua to serve her Loose. A Timbaland-type beat would do wonders for her and she could deliver a 2000s-nostalgia sound better than the other girls, but will she?
IAmJustAKnee Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Is there still hope for Illusion in the U.S. or are we moving to These Walls?
