k4rmabutterfly Posted May 5 Posted May 5 I think another mistake her team is doing is neglecting TikTok. They just don't know how to use it, and I feel like Dua doesn't really like or use the app, so whenever she appears there it feels like an out of touch millenial Nowadays, going viral on TikTok / Reels is the best promo a song could get, I know her team is paying for influencers to promote her songs there (considering the amount of ads Houdini and Illusion had), but they're doing the wrong way, the public can't know the influencers are being paid to promote the songs, it should be subtle like Doja and Taylor usually do. She needs to build a bigger presence on TikTok QUICKLY, it would help her so much, she wouldn't need to promote the songs to death or massive payolas on radio, TikTok alone can carry the song. I feel like from this album, Maria may have some potential to go viral on TikTok due to the lyrical content + and the flute, idk I could see it she truly needs a better team tho, smh 2

Ratviolo Posted May 5 Posted May 5 26 minutes ago, LanaXtinaFan said: also, aren't the 2nd day numbers good? Just a million drop. That's the unfiltered number, it dropped 5,724,435 compared to yesterday's unfiltered (-27,94%). I think it's not too bad? Can't remember how it compares to other pop girls' albums

Why are we even comparing both albums like for what? 9 hours ago, Cloudy said: Do we have a Fantano review or he did just ignore the album like the rest of the world? Like the rest of the world? SchmoodRing Posted May 5 Posted May 5 1 hour ago, _Fey said: Yeah this is the main reason why I don't understand those comparisons. Katy and GaGa made lots of mistakes and damaged their brands and reputation before and during those eras, which affected the reception of their music. Dua is still liked. The music/videos/looks just aren't what people wanted/expected from her. She can easily recover as long as she doesn't make any other dumb mistakes, like waiting too long or something. No one has an issue with the videos or her looks. Just the "music" which shouldn't be an issue. She's still serving bridges and explosive final choruses and songs over 3 minutes. People also need to consider her being overexposed music video. Future Nostalgia lasted almost half a decade and the Barbie soundtrack ate into this new era. Cut her some slack cause she still delivered. This album is like if Future Nostaglia and her debut had a baby. 1
AMIT Posted May 5 Posted May 5 I woke up with End of An Era STUCK on my mind and now I'm obsessed whew. This will sound random af, but it kinda reminded me of Britney's Trouble for Me at parts. The bridge/spoken part of EOAE reminded me of TFM's pre-chorus but maybe I'm crazy.

ariananext Posted May 5 Posted May 5 I'm gonna have my first full listen Spoiler I'm a bit late but I was recovering from surgery and as much as I was being radically optimistic I didn't feel like bopping
Ghost Posted May 5 Posted May 5 It has become UNBEARABLE to read people discussing this album on twitter and seeing so many believing the conspiracy of the album being changed after the release of Houdini 2
halcyonday Posted May 5 Posted May 5 I looked for evidence and I can confirm it's all houdini's fault

The album is really hitting today. I didn't quite vibe with These Walls at first, but it's actually cute. 1

Relampago. Posted May 5 Posted May 5 I showed this album to my friends at my birthday party last night. I shoved it down their throats, I don't care. They're pop stans and up to date with all recent releases, but they all had the same responses: they like they album a lot and don't get the hate but it's too chill for them to really LOVE it. They appreciate that it's consistent but they almost wish that there was a horrible song just so they could differentiate. I don't really relate, I prefer a consistent album over an album full of 10s and 4s. But it just seems like everyone really does like the album, it's just not enough 10s for them. That just makes me think a deluxe could really save this if the songs added are punchy. 4

selena_lavigne Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Can we talk about how good this album sounds completely sober? And how you don't need to do drugs to enjoy it? 9

LMAO I always do a first listen to albums with a joint in hand, just a tradition. The album doesn't need anything extra to enjoy it, it's perfect the way it is. But imagining myself visiting my family on a beach in Mexico with a White Claw in my hand.. I'm so ready to hear it in that context this summer. 1
ariananext Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Just finished my first listen. Best track: Falling Forever other I really liked: Training Season, Houdini, Maria, These Walls, French Exit Worst track: Anything For Love I don't have any complains tbh, I think it's a solid album. I think it could benefit from a couple of added songs with more punch ala Training Season, if there was to be a deluxe. 4

But the whole point of psychedelic music and the albums i listen to, is to provide you with a 45 minute high, you can ride whenever you want, without needing to get high. Which is why quality music and ESPECIALLY quality albums is very important. Edited May 5 by selena_lavigne
