Oh Rina...I love her & hope she's able to get to a place where she feels comfortable to release again.

The music was never that good for her to be this annoying

Forgive my ignorance but what’s the actual real reason she’s not releasing? Is she signed to that guy from the 1975? I can’t even remember his name lol if that’s the case that makes sense to me

I’d shelve someone who made Hold The Girl too :clap3:

Matty isn’t part of the label anymore but he still owns a share of the company (including part of her masters). She’s just having a meltdown and saying she won’t release because racism exists (when in reality, it’s because her music quality took a nosedive :cm:)

i think that Matty guy should release her from her contract and let her sign with another label so she can put out music the way she wants to

i think this is more of an ethical dilemma than it is her being legitimately prevented from putting out music, and i understand why she would feel the way she feels. my only thing is that i miss her debut sound more than anything. Hold The Girl was ….. honestly kinda awful for me. i know she has mega pop star potential inside of her and i want her to tap into that.

This post is slightly racist. I wish people would use their brains for a second before posting.

Y'all are so weird making fun of an Asian woman discussing her experiences with sexual abuse and misogyny in the industry. Seek help. :biblionny:

Dirty Hit forced Matt Healy to "step down" from its board of directors after his racism scandal but didn't require he give back or sell off his shares in the label so he still effectively makes money of all their artists including Rina and will continue and she's effectively been petitioning that it's not holding him accountable to still reward him for being racist and force women of color into the dilemma of making him money by letting him still own part of the label.

Marina is white and she gets exactly the same comments in every thread since 2018.

Women hating still applies to her.

her career is serving a marina trajectory but even worse, at least marina had 3 excellent albums before she forgot how to write a song

I kinda still don't get this. Is she forced to work with her abusers, or she's giving a general statement about the music industry and somehow connecting it to her not releasing stuff? But still fully working in the industry? Like what difference does an album release actually make here?

If she's this unwell she should just take a big break or quit, if she has the strength to perform/do whatever her stuff was this year, I don't get how racism and mysogyny is connected to that. I'm prob being massively insensitive or missing more context, but personally, I loved her first record and then just never checked back because I didn't like the music. I'm sure she experiences a lot of backlash, but a majority of casual listeners just checked out along the way and it was never that deep.

She should move into politics. The deflection is unreal. She was just on the cover of ******* British Vogue yet she’d have you believe she’s industry blacklisted. Representation is important. That said, anybody who can’t see how frequently she pulls the diversity/marginalization card to compensate for how her music isn’t resonating with an audience is totally gullible. The very thing she claims is a hindrance to her success is actually the only thing getting her anywhere professionally. If she was a straight white dude screaming on global stages about her label with no hits & poor album units, she’d be dropped by now

Maybe daddy should’ve negotiated a better deal for Rina….

The fact that anyone would run in here to defend and sob over Rina’s ambiguous, disingenuous complaints of ‘misogyny’ and ‘racism’… she’s a nepo baby, been coddled her entire life, went to the best schools in the UK, and had her father buy her a music career. She’s not a victim of anything. I don’t give a **** for a second that she’s upset Matty ******* Healy owns her masters. She needs to build a bridge and get over it.

Huh, care to explain? Didn't she grow poor or something? I remember an interview from back in her EP days (i-D) where she says her family had financial difficulties with her mum having to juggle two jobs? Where is this accusation coming from?

ATRL's edge-lord libertarians hating her in unison and using the same "race card' language really kind of proving her point. :deadbanana4:

She's petitioning the fact that Dirty Hit only punished Matty in name and he still owns part of the label via his shares.

Rina's not he first to complain about Dirty Hit:
