album Charli XCX - 'BRAT'

Got a little too excited when the album was said to be a homage to french house and techno. I kind of felt it was a "regular" charli pop album except few moments here and there. Maybe the remix record will lean more into that aspect and probably will be a slay.

Everything is romantic is a career highlight though. But I can't help but hear how similar she sounds to FKA twigs - I think on lightbeamers? - I don't recall exactly

This album feels as if the three sounds from "Charli" (mainstream pop, alternative/experimental pop, honest/emotional) came together to make a cohesive album and it absolutely makes it one of her bests.

I prefer Charli at her most instinctual. How I'm feeling now is my favourite album of hers. BRAT feels similar

I went to one of the BRAT release parties last night in London and Charli showed up! she literally got into the crowd and had about 300 gays swarming her as TROPHY was playing. It was quite literally like witnessing Jesus feed the 5000. One of the most unhinged nights of my entire life

OT: The album does truly come alive when it's played live. I think she's made something so brilliant but in order to fully have the album click you need to be in a bar and listen collectively. I've played it a few times on Spotify this morning and it's a strong 8/10, but live it kicks it up to 110000/10 majorly. Apple, Everything is romantic and 365 are career highlights <3

Brat is currently the most critically acclaimed release this year, so it might be back to the hearing doctor for you I fear.
